Does exactly what it says it will.
So I bought this to make an attempt at sharing a SkyQ Mini box from one bedroom to the next (Rooms are opposite eachother).I've tried a few Analogue Transmitter Receivers and they all failed miserably.I wasn't expecting miracles with this unit either, but at £39.99 I thought it was worth a try.The rooms are maybe 3 meters apart, but TV to TV maybe 6 or 7, through 2 partition walls, so I guessed I was within the 10 meter range.Well...I was pleasantly surprised, it worked a treat.Very little setup (you basically just plug it in and power it up) so anyone can do it.The picture quality was good, and steady and 1080p standard. It wobbled a little with HD sports channels with lots of fast paced movement but finds itself quick enough. The picture glitched a few times on the HD Sports channels, but you'd get over it for the price.General TV (in HD) worked fine, and any Standard Def channel worked flawlessly. It obviously doesn't have IR control over your sky box, but you can easily use a Bluetooth Sky remote, or download a free Sky Q remote app on your phone and use that to control the box in the other room.I'd recommend it if wireless was the only way to go.Also, it does seem to get very warm during use, but it says so in the description, so I guess that's not an issue.Give it a go, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

cheap + cheerful, does what it says (ish)
I got the usb-c dongle to a usb-A+HDMI device for the TV/Monitor.So, I plugged the device into my TV, and get a small image and QR code.Plug the device into my laptop (Linux), it picks it up and starts working and I soon see a 1080p@60hz screen.Audio is transmitted too, so I am fairly happy with my limited testing and the minor lag in transmitting. However - the Hz doesnt seem to actually be 60hz, I would guess it's actually only doing 30 and attempting to interpolate. Also, the dongle plugged into the laptop (usb-c) does suck down a fair amount of power and heats up under use.Again, this does for me for the time being, and allows me a cheap way to get my laptop up onto the TV without any hassles.

lets you watch video
This wireless HDMI is very easy to set up as it is completely plug and play. It's almost as easy as an HDMI cable, except that you need to power it with a USB port.I tried this by streaming Netflix from my laptop to the TV. I was deliberately watching for stutters and problems and did see some in the first few seconds, but they settled down to something that was definitely watchable.I then tried to challenge it by plugging it into the HDMI of my Android tablet. This had to be done with an HDMI adapter plug and an external USB power source. Unfortunately, trying to stream Netflix was just too jumpy to watch with constant missed frames. I should point out that this is a tablet I bought in 2020 and has 3Gb Ram. I don't remember much else about it and it's not listed for sale any more.As the listing says, you wouldn't want to buy this for a console due to the lag. It's very noticeable if you have the laptop open next to the TV and in fact is quite off-putting for just navigating the cursor around the screen, never mind gaming. It does get quite hot during use, though the item description says not to worry about this.In essence, then, this is a device to let you watch video without an HDMI cable stretched across the room. Perhaps in a hotel or if you have children.

Has its uses, works wirelessly as intended, if there aren’t any thick walls or obstructions
I got this HDMI Transmitter/receiver in the hope that I could watch Sky TV on my projector in the garden, mainly films for cinema nights.I plugged the transmitter into the HDMI port on the Sky box and the receiver into the hdmi port on my projector. Both leads have to be powered, and have a USB head which can be plugged into a mains socket or USB port. I initially tried it with the projector in the room next door (internal wall) and it appeared to work fine.I then attempted to go into the garden, which is a distance of approximately 20 metres, but into the hallway, downstairs and through an external wall.As expected (and indicated on the listing description) it didn’t work properly, the picture/sound was jumpy and clitchy. However, this is not the fault of the device and it did actually work as advertised so I can’t mark it down for that. You also need to have a power socket close enough to your receiving source as the receiver needs to be plugged into a mains power point. I couldn’t get it to work directly from the Nintendo switch dock, but as I’m not very tech savvy, it may well have been user error as oppose to device error!Until I can find a suitable device which will work wirelessly at the distance and terrain required, I’ll need to use a wired connection.

Great to connect my work laptop to my television
This connected easily, the cable goes into my laptop (clearly marked) and one into the TV, they both need a power source. (the cables could be a bit longer but I guess the point is not to have long cables)With no cable stretching across the lounge I can easily present my laptop on my larger tv screen and work using this (great for practicing presentations)I am not super technical but this was simple to use and has been working well so far, I have used a power outlet and a power pack to run the TV and both worked fine.
