GOINGMAKE Shelf Pin Jig, 1/4 Inch Aluminum Alloy Shelf Pin Drilling Jig

I realized I don't need to drill 5mm holes, so this item is just perfect. It's higher quality than those other cheap-chinese noname jigs. In particular: * The stop collar provided actually fits the drill bit. I had one from Tanyo that had too-big collars that didn't stay put. * The fence pins are very soilid, so the jig doesn't move while in place. Other brands have a long knurled screw that wobbles and allows the kiig to move around. * The plate is thick, making it feel sturdy. * It's phyically smaller than the others, because it doesn't have any useless features like euro-hinge hole guides. The case is more compact and stores well. Overall, very satisfied with this jig.

I had a project where I was extending the depth of the bottom half of a bookcase I had made out of pre-drilled MDF from Home Depot. The original bookcase was 11" deep x 10' high. The extended depth of the bottom is to be used to hold audio gear and needed to be 18" depth, front to rear. I was able to increase the depth but had to insert additional panels on the left and right so that shelf pins could be installed. I needed a shelf pin jig to do that, and this jig was perfect for the job. After completing my holes and mounting some shelves I was pleased that the alignment with the inner portion of the shelf was perfect and the distance between holes lined up exactly as with the original panels from Home Depot. The jig is high quality fabricated aluminum, not plastic, and it comes with two drill bits, and stop and Allen wrench, including an instruction manual, all in an attractive plastic case. The jig is well worth the modest price and I would definitely recommend it for drilling shelf clip holes.

This is a "must have" for anyone constructing cabinetry with shelf pins! The product is extremely well made (aluminum base and steel guides) rather than the more common plastic jigs. Very accurate, durable, easy to use and adjustable for different inset distances for the pegs. Everything you need for a shelf pin project is included and contained in a case so you won't lose any important parts. The amount of time I saved building several shelving units more than paid for the cost of this jig. Just wish I would have had this jig years ago for other similar (time-consuming) shelving projects.

likes, all aluminum construction, seems very accurate and uses more sturdy 1/4 inch shelf pins instead of the 5mm ones comes with 2 bits which is a huge plus the competition makes you buy the 1/4 drill and only is set up for 5mm to start. this jig will work along side, for now, my other jig dislike is the fact it only has 1/4 pin capability not a deal killer in any way, and it has "pins" to support the jig on the edge again this is both an advantage and disadvantage as you can change the depth of where the pins are located BUT if you are making something smaller the jig may not calibrate consistently. on another positive you can replace the bits easily and commonly as they are not proprietary and simply standard 1/4 inch bits this will be a fine addition to my other goingmake tools and future ones

This was the perfect jig for drilling the shelf pin holes in my cabinet project. It comes with everything you need, and it’s not complicated at all to use. However, what’s very important to keep in mind is that if the stop collar is not fastened VERY tightly to the drill bit, it can very easily slip and move from the frequent movement and vibration of the drill. Unfortunately I learned this the hard way when I unknowing drilled through my cabinet plywood. So even if you do tighten the collar as much as possible, I would check the bit periodically to make sure the collar hasn’t moved. Other than that, this is a great tool for shelf pin holes!

Worked like a charm. It is extremely durable and easy to use. I bought this item because the one I wanted wasn’t available. I don’t regret getting it.

This jig is AWESOME!!! I had previously bought a plastic jig and had a big issue with it blowing out the holes. I just drilled 300 shelf pin holes in my new garage cabinets with zero blowouts and the pins fit perfectly in each hole. The jig is extremely well made with plenty of hole location options. If you're needing to drill consistent and accurate shelf pin holes, this jig will definitely get the job done.
