Great Value and Quality
After reading others reviews I was a little hesitant to purchase these grips because of poor fit and installation. Well I must tell that my experience was completely outstanding! These grips fit my Taurus 605 like they were custom made. The fit tight with no looseness and once the screw was tightened the seam disappeared. The rosewood finish is rich looking and the checkering is exact. Installation took 10 minutes and the supplied roll pin fit perfectly. I am very satisfied with my purchase. My only recommendation would be for Pachmyer to supply a better quality screw. The one supplied has a very shallow slot that’s hard to tighten without slipping.

Perfect Fit
These grips fit like a glove on my 2025 Taurus 856. Easy to install after removing stock rubber grips.

Nice, but a little thick!
These are actually really nice little grips, they are more comfortable and fill my hand a little more than the stock rubber grips and there's a little more real estate for my pinky but I'd still like a little more room for my pinky. They are beautifully finished and smooth! except where they are checkered obviously and they feel great on my 856 but I would like them to be a little shorter front to back but that's a personal preference. Now these girls are thick! Way thicker than the rubber grips that it came with so if you're going to conceal carry you might want to leave the rubber grips on cause these will print a bit more. Overall so far they seem really nice but I need to take them to the range and see how they hold up but I'm not worried because Pachmayr has been in the game a while so there shouldn't be any issues. I might try to gently sand and shape them to fit my hand a little better, although I'd hate to mess up the beautiful fit and finish.. maybe I'll get a second set just Incase.

Looks and works great
I was replacing the internal springs on my Taurus 856ul so it would have a lighter trigger pull, the original group has to be removed by taking out a pressure pin, I accidentally damaged this pin and couldn’t get it out so I had to cut the rubber grip off. I ordered this because it looked nice and said it would fit. It fit perfectly and his held on by a nice tight screw so I didn’t have to mess around with another pressure pin and risk damaging anything else which was nice. It feels great, feels better then the price would make you think it would feel. It is bigger then the old grip, but I personally like that. It will help eat up some more recoil which is a definite win with a snub nosed .38.

Larger than original grips
Quality grips, but larger than I anticipated. If you're looking for smaller sized grips for concealment, these might not be the best fit. The palm swells are almost as wide as the cylinder itself, negating the purpose of a deep-concealment snubbie like the Taurus 85. However, if you're looking for something a bit larger with a full three-finger grip, these are great. They do fill the hand nicely, and do place the hand lower on the frame for a straighter trigger pull to the rear. Also, the machining and fitment of the grip halves are very nicely done. Great grips, just not for my purposes.

Taurus .38spl grip upgrade
I wanted a wooden handle for my .38 did some research and I chose this one and I was impressed with the results I have big hands and these grips are thick and I can now get three fingers on it and handle it a bit better also mine has a 3 inch barrel. The recoil is not that bad now . Also in my case I reused my pin ( instruction note) suggesting. If you’re having trouble fitting it slightly tap it with a mallet hammer flip it over repeat until closed or you’re satisfied with the gap closing

Nice Grip, But Requires a Little Fitting
The grip is a little bit longer and quite a lot thicker than the factory rubber grip on my 856 Ultra-Lite. The holes for the frame pin are slightly undersized and have to be very carefully enlarged. Exercise caution if you use a power drill, since it would be easy to drill through the grip. The slot on the grip screw is shallow, but it works. The grip itself looks good on the gun and offers a much better hold for those of us with large hands. If you have larger hands or just don't like the look of the factory grip, this is a good replacement if you're willing to work with it a little.
