I believe the model is the Jinhao 88, but i couldn't find the real model number in the product description. Note that I bought this for myself originally, then gifted it to a friend to try to get them into fountain pens so I don't have it anymore. But I did like it a lot and was not trying to get rid of it when I gave it away. Build quality: the cap, section and body are metal (brass?) with a nice looking matte black finish. Has a nice bit of weight to it and feels well balanced to me. I got the impression of quality when holding it. Design: Understated, which I really like. May not be for those that like flashy pens. There is some fluting / grooving on the barrel that makes it a little more interesting to look at and feels nice to the touch. Nib, ink flow: I got the fine nib and it was very smooth, surprisingly so. Definitely smoother than my Lamy Safari. Ink flow was slow at first but it opened up after writing for a bit and the flow was good after that. This was one of the first pens I bought and I don't think that I flushed it with water when I received it. It might have removed this issue altogether. Also, I cannot remember which ink I used. It was probably one of included black ink cartridges or Hongdian black ink. Using a different ink may give different results. Pen sleeve: I actually really appreciated the included pen sleeve. I think it is a nice size, protects the pen's surface nicely and has a flap that tucks in to a strap so no part of the pen is exposed. I am trying to find out if / where I can buy the pen sleeves directly so I can protect more of my pens. Overall, I really liked this bundle. I thought the pen was good quality even before considering the price. The pen alone would be a good deal for the $10 I paid, but the fact that it comes with 10 cartridges, a convert and protective sleeve makes the value/$ high Review: Great budget pen - Wonderful fountain pen. Nice weight, smooth writing, and a great budget pen. Comes with blue and blank ink cartridges along with a converter. ## Features - Appearance & Quality: This refillable fountain pen has an exquisite metal body with a matte black finish. It is well made, sturdy and durable. Perfect metal weight and balance for premium feel in your hand. - Writing Experience: JINHAO iridium alloy fine nib combined with High-end Ink delivery system makes writing silky smooth. You can write continuously without worrying about any skipping. - What You Get: The set includes a high-quality fine fountain pen, JINHAO ink cartridges (2.6mm bore diameter, 5 black & 5 light blue), a converter, a protective sleeve, and a guide to use. The included ink cartridges will save you the cost of buying them separately. - Detail: Ergonomic and streamlined design is easy to hold. A satisfying click will be heard when the Snap-on cap is closed. Superior writing performance, Even just pinching the tail-end and dragging the nib across the paper can also create clean and even ink lines. Nice weight, smooth writing, and a great budget pen. Comes with blue and blank ink cartridges along with a converter. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ It's a neat pen for what it is *by D***A on June 11, 2025* If your looking for a cool pen and not overly expensive it's pretty neat. Has a nice weight to it since a good amount of the pen is metal except the ink parts. I'll admit, I got this pen on a whim due to price and I'd been seeing videos of people drawing with fountain pens and I probably got the wrong style but it's fun none the less. I actually ended up using it for both drawing and everyday pen wether I'm home or at work. It glides well, I know when I got this I first looked at all the 1 stars and was just hoping I'd get a good one lol it does seem based on others review that sometimes there is small errors that totally mess them up but the one I got was great. It does put out quite a bit of ink sometimes like a thicker line but I wonder if that's because I'm heavy handed and maybe messed it up or the surfaces of the paper I'm using. (Doodling on the back of sticker wax paper at work lol) first time putting the ink in was scary tho lotta weight to push into it that I pressed it against my table to do it. ## Frequently Bought Together - JINHAO Fountain Pen Fine Nib, Includes Ink Cartridges & Converter, Perfect Weight, Optimal Flow, No Skips - RILIHO Leather Journal Notebook - Genuine Leather Journals for Writing 260 Pages 5x7.1 Inches Vintage Journal For Man and Women Gifts For Man Artist,Travel Journal,Brown - LEATHER VILLAGE Leather Bound Journal - Rustic Brown, 7"X5", 220 Pages - Vintage Blank Paper Diary for Writing, Drawing, Sketchbook, and Travel Notebook - Ideal for Women and Men --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.jp/products/534653787-jinhao-fountain-pen-fine-nib-includes-ink-cartridges-and-converter](https://www.desertcart.jp/products/534653787-jinhao-fountain-pen-fine-nib-includes-ink-cartridges-and-converter) --- *Product available on Desertcart Japan* *Store origin: JP* *Last updated: 2026-10-08*
