Just the facts.
There are many conspiracy theories and propaganda books out there about our current President but this one is very factual. It is based on President Obama's books and the positions he actually took while in the Illinois State Senate and the U.S. Senate. Although it was written during the 2008 campaign, the author offers a web site with updates. I also like that the author offers anyone a free chapter of your choice on his web site. I wish more people would have taken advantage of this during the 2012 election. Too many voted for him without really knowing his positions and what he really stands for.

a big ego
To have bought this guy's (Barry Sotoro's ) story is a crime of unbelievable proportions We could have elected O.J Simpson or Jessee Jackson or Al Sharpton to be president. The major qualification for any one of them was in the concentration of the skin pigment. He has never ran so much as a Dairy Queen or made a payroll . Neither does he know anything about the military. If he did, he would realize that corpses have not fought our wars. I doubt if this was what the Reverend Martin Luther King had in mind when he preached "I have a dream"I merely wish he would quit holding his crotch when the flag is presented. Lord help us to survive this man.

Everyone Should Have Read This Before They Voted For Him
Yes, everyone should have read this book before voting for Obama. If they had we wouldn't be in the mess we are in today. I read several books on Obama before the last election and this was, by far, the best, the most thorough and informative.

Audacity of Deceit - review
O'Leary's book on Obama has sold well when published during the summer months of the now finished Campaign 2008. The media never managed to negate its author completely, so a significant number were alerted to Barack Obama's desired policies when in the United States Senate..Of particular interest is the author's revelation of the abortion issue in which BO managed to outradicalize Nancy Pelosi(!), who found Se. Obama's intentions on partial birth too callous, and so wanted to trash this bill.. Other necessary information for the campaign(now too late!) is Obama's tax policy, with which he wants to raise the number of non-taxable employeds to more than fifty - from abt. thirty, thus increasing the number of welfare recipients substantially!!A third point of note would be the (now) President-elect's plan to allow felons to vote, and at the same time disregard votes from US Forces overseas! This idea was first concocted by the Clinton Administration to enroll large swathes of de-classed citizens of urban address to make the Democrats a lot more important at elections---especially when Electoral College votes thus far have made urban votes too small to matter in a voting context!!All in all, Brad O'Leary has gathered some harsh evidence that points to a disaster for the United States if a majority of BO's intentions are ever fulfilled! The expected majority of sixty seats in the Senate is at this point unlikely to materialize - at most the Dems will get a 57-41 majority, and due to the radical nature of most of Obama's intentions they may not dare go too far with this majority - at least not before 2012??Afterword: In light of the centrist administration Obama is now putting together one can - temporarily - breathe a sigh of relief, but with his radical past connections Mr Obama will remain a threat to the United States for years..I rate the O'Leary book highly and end up giving it four out of five stars.

The more you know about politicians, the less you want to vote for them!
As President Obama continues to disappoint and dismay, this book helps explain why. And of course it was published before he was elected in order to help Americans choose. I guess most of them failed to read it!The gaps between him and what were once held to be solid American values are described. His multiple dissing of old allies such as the UK, and his kow-towing to illiberal dictatorships such as that of Saudi Arabia (where the photograph of him bowing almost at right-angles to his legs had to be seen to be believed - just Google 'Obama bows') all makes more sense when you learn more of his background as described in this book.It has 12 useful chapters, and a rather facile 13th one in which the author imagines a 2nd term re-nomination speech. Chapter 1 is on the gulf between Obama and the core values of the American middle-class, which are described by the author as 'traditional Christian'. Chapter 2 is about the Second Amendment whereby Americans have an entitlement to arm themselves with guns, and which Obama has likened to a 'tradition' rather than an inalienable right in their constitution. Chapter 3 is about extending voting rights to criminals, and making voting difficult for armed services personnel to vote while overseas. Chapter 4 is about tax, Chapter 5 on government spending threatening to bankrupt America (prescient so far!). Chapter 6 is entitled 'Starving America', and covers energy policy mainly, and how Obama has been influenced by the facile policies of some 'environmentalists'. Chapters 7 to 10 are on, respectively, trade, justice, healthcare, and defence. In each case, the author highlights the changes promised by, or consistent with, Obama's election campaign or past associations. Chapter 11 gives a set of political questions, a kind of magazine quiz to help the reader decide how to vote. Chapter 12 begins with a tale of Ronald Reagan's 'warmth and humor', and the author asserts 'comparing Ronald Reagan to Barack Obama, Obama seems humorless'. But the main focus of the chapter is on how trustworthy Obama is - a list of examples is given of the apparent ease with which he has changed positions, or held apparently conflicting positions for different audiences, and a lot of attention is paid to people and projects he has associated with in the past, not least Bill Ayers, described as an 'unrepentant former member ..[of a] terrorist organization'.Obama does not emerge well from this book, which provides a pretty relentless diatribe about his past, his politics, and his personality. Yet so many people voted for him and his party? Surely there must be something good about him, somewhere? I found no hint of it here. The writing style is racy, journalistic, with lots of 'soundbites' e.g. 'In Barack Obama's America, Christians will be told to sit down, shut up, and pay the bills'. I must say I found this wearisome at times. On the other hand, quite a few things have been born out by subsequent events, for example 'Obama's key qualifier for Supreme Court judges appears not to be whether individuals are capable of interpreting the Constitution and applying it to cases. Rather, Obama wants his justices to act on their emotions, feelings, and "empathy".' Vide the appointment of Sotomayer, the self-styled 'wise latina'.This review is of course about 2 years too late! I think the book is a bit of potboiler, pulling together in a very accessible way lots of stuff with which to attack Obama. But the relentless polemic wore me down a bit. But then, I don't have to live with the immediate consequences of Obama's administration, nor was I eligible to vote for him anyway. Now I think the book is of interest for the politically-involved to use as a kind of checklist to compare the 'actuals' with the 'expecteds' as events unfold through the remainder of this administration.

The facts are probably correct but seem to be repeated.
I enjoyed the book.No need to say that it's anti-Mr. Obama, but if you want to find out how Mr. Obama voted on various bills in America, and try to find out what Mr. Obama stands for and what his values are, then it does help with that.It rather labours the point though. The same fact may appear in several chapters throughout the book, which kind-of makes one think that either the author didn't research enough or that he wanted to rush it to publication as the repetitions don't add value. This may lead to the conclusion that the author didn't find enough negatives. I don't know, the reader must judge. The Audacity of Deceit: Barack Obama's War on American ValuesThe Audacity of Deceit: Barack Obama's War on American Values
