Reliable, Powerful, and Still Going Strong After Two Years!
I bought the GoveeLife Dehumidifier a little over two years ago, and I honestly couldn’t be happier with it. From day one, this unit has run almost non-stop — 24 hours a day, seven days a week — and it’s still performing just as well as it did when I first plugged it in. That kind of reliability is hard to come by these days.Living in the Deep South, humidity is a constant battle. Without this dehumidifier, the humidity level in my home would easily stay between 65–70%. With it running, it consistently holds around 45%, which makes a huge difference in comfort and air quality. The collection bucket fills up twice a day — roughly two gallons every twelve hours — which tells me it’s pulling a lot of moisture out of the air and doing exactly what it’s designed to do.Some people mention the noise level, but let’s be honest — it’s a blower motor, so a little sound is expected. In my opinion, it’s actually quieter than many others I’ve tried, and for the amount of work it’s doing, it’s really not that noisy at all. I can easily run it day and night without it being a distraction.Another nice feature is the GoveeLife app. The phone connectivity is a great bonus, allowing me to check humidity levels and even get notified when the bucket needs to be emptied. It’s simple to set up and very convenient.Overall, this has been an outstanding purchase. It’s durable, effective, and dependable — everything you want in a dehumidifier. After two years of continuous operation, I can confidently say it’s worth every penny. If you live in a humid area and need something you can count on, this is the one to get.

Love it. Saves us money and wear and tear on the AC.
This arrived in perfect condition and quickly. I unboxed it and left it in an upright position for 24 hours BEFORE plugging it in to prevent compressor damage and extend the service life of the unit, as you should do with any product that has a compressor, to allow the oil to resettle back into the compressor from the lines due to movement during transit. It connected quickly to my Android smartphone via their app, available for free from the Play Store and integrated seamlessly with my Alexa ecosystem, which is robust to say the least. Easily turned on, off, raised and lowered the fan speed via voice, which is primarily what drove me to purchase this product. As a bonus, I had a small Govee remote sensor for temperature and humidity that paired with the unit to provide remote sensing capabilities, which was very handy when trying to keep a large space properly dehumidified. The app is easy to use and customer service is handled through the app, which is VERY nice and super convenient. I thought I had an issue with the compressor not turning on and off but via messaging through the chat in the app, they were able to see the log of the machine's components and determine it was my misunderstanding of how the Auto function worked. The unit itself works well to remove excess humidity from our home. With the unit on high and the relative humidity being 60%, it fills the tank in around 10 hours, making our home feel more comfortable at 74F and 52% RH than at 72F and 60% RH. It does emit heat though, as is the case with any dehumidifier, so mitigating that is simply a case of having the fan on our central AC unit come on for 15 minutes every hour to help move the dehumidified air and warmer air out of the room. We keep the unit in the living room, our largest room in our 1700 sqft. living space and it definitely helps keep the entire space more comfortable, again using the central air fan only function to move air around the entire space. The water tank is one of the largest I could find at 2 gallons. I didn't want to hang a hose out of the window to automatically drain the unit, but I did try out the auto drain function and it does work really well to pump the water out without the use of the integrated water tank, a nice feature for sure, especially if you have a floor drain or put the unit in close proximity of the window. The unit is easy to maintain - a washable filter screen on the back of the unit makes keeping the coils clean and the unit in top working condition a breeze. We are very happy with this purchase. We've had it up and running for about a month now and have already noticed shorter run times on the central AC due to not needing to crank the temperature down to get the 'stickiness' out of the air. We live in the 'deep south' on the coast and high humidity is just a way of life. This helps the house feel much more comfortable and that's important to us.

Forget Govee, and GO THEE OTHERWAY!!!! Multiple product failures, don't trust this brand.
I've purchased Govee products for multiple years (going back to 2019). From temperature sensors, humidity sensors, water leak sensors, led strip lights, 4 space heaters, and this dehumidifier. I loved the sleek looks of their products and the app always worked really well for me. Sadly the products do not. While I haven't had issues with the sensors all four of my heaters were recalled. Then we get to this dehumidifer. I feel like such a fool as I've likely wasted hours and hours of energy before I realized it was completely nonfunctional. When I originally bought it I powered it up to be sure it was working, it was and was filling the tank and lowering the humidity. I ended up buying a hose attachment so I could drain it directly into my sump pump in our basement. Being in the Midwest we only need a dehumidifer a few months in the summer so it was then turned off and put away. I brought it out this summer, made sure the screen was spotless and hose was attached correctly and plugged it in. It turned right on, connected to the app, and all seemed well.I've been annoyed at the high humidity this summer. My basement had a musty odor for the first time ever, the humidity never seemed to drop much, I heard this humming away though and didn't think anything of it other than considering buying a 2nd assuming that even though my basement is far under 4,500 sq ft maybe I needed more than one. It was only when I pulled it upstairs where I was painting a ceiling and wanted low humidity to help drying that I realized it wasn't pulling any moisture at all. The hose was completely dry. I unhooked it and ran it with the tank... absolutely not a spec of moisture. I realized the air coming out was cool (it should be warmer than the surrounding room temperature air) and the coils were spotless, dry, and room temperature. I'd been running it for months and it was doing NOTHING to dehumidify my space.I've lost all faith in this company and I regret giving them another chance after all my space heaters were recalled. They might be ok for small sensors, but I'd GoThee otherway when it comes to buying anything more expensive.

Game-Changer for My Damp Basement – Smart, Powerful, and Surprisingly Quiet!
I’ve been battling humidity in my 2,500 sq ft home (mostly the basement and garage) for years, especially during those muggy Midwest summers. Musty smells, condensation on windows, and that constant clammy feeling? It was driving me nuts. I finally pulled the trigger on the GoveeLife Smart Dehumidifier after reading about its massive coverage area and app integration. Spoiler: It’s been a total win, pulling moisture like a champ without breaking the bank on energy. The Good Stuff:• Beast-Mode Dehumidification: Rated for up to 4,500 sq ft, this thing handles my space effortlessly. In auto mode, it drops humidity from 75% to a comfy 45% in under an hour during peak humid days. The variable capacity (50 pints at cooler temps up to 137 pints in sweltering 90°F/90% RH conditions) means it adapts without overworking. No more mold worries – my basement smells fresh for the first time in forever.• Smart Features That Actually Matter: The Govee app is a dream – real-time humidity monitoring, remote on/off, and customizable targets (I set it to 50% for comfort without drying out the air). Voice control with Alexa or Google Home? Seamless. Plus, the auto-defrost keeps it running smoothly even in cooler spots like my garage.• Easy Setup and Low Maintenance: The 2-gallon bucket is huge (lasts 2-3 days on high), and emptying it is a breeze with the handle and splash guard. I hooked up the included drain hose to a floor drain for hands-free operation – no more midnight bucket dumps. Auto shut-off when full is a lifesaver, and the washable filter is simple to clean monthly.• Quiet and Efficient: At under 50dB on low, it’s quieter than my old unit – like a soft fan hum, not a jet engine. Energy Star certified, so my electric bill barely budged (around 600W max draw). The Not-So-Good Stuff:• It’s a bit bulky (about 40 lbs), so maneuvering it into tight spots requires two people. Not ideal for super small rooms.• In extreme humidity, the bucket might need more frequent checks if you’re not using the hose, and it emits a gentle warmth from the exhaust (totally normal, but noticeable in a small enclosed space).• The app occasionally lags if your Wi-Fi is spotty, but a quick restart fixes it.Overall, this dehumidifier has made my home feel livable again – no more sticky sheets or allergy flare-ups. If you’re dealing with a large, humid space, it’s worth every penny. Highly recommend for basements, garages, or open floor plans. Just pair it with the hose, and you’re golden!

Solidly 4 stars
We have always needed to run a dehumidifier in our basement in the summer so I'm no stranger to how they work. I just never really thought there would be things I'd love about a dehumidifier before. This model gets high marks from me though. Some minor cons that don't really deter me from overall liking it:- As far as I can tell, there's no audible signal when the bucket is full. There is an app that notifies you, but there are 4 people in my house and only 1 person with the app on their phone. Someone either has to notice it needs to be emptied or it needs to be checked regularly, and ours isn't in a main room where people are walking by regularly.- When it's full, it's FULL. I've spilled it a few times trying to pull the bucket out to empty it. I can appreciate the amount of water it holds, but having the float stop it just a bit earlier to stop the slosh from spilling over would be nice.- The bucket is also very awkwardly shaped and difficult to grab hold of as you're pulling it out, and it doesn't balance well so you can't put it down to get a better grip.- It throws a TON of heat. Our basement is usually several degrees cooler than the rest of our house, but with this dehumidifier sitting in the area, it raised the temperature by about 4 degrees. (Yes, I checked the difference in temp.) Because of this, we had to move it out of the main (middle) room of our basement, but that ended up not being a horrible thing. The reasons I love it and forgive any of the above:- It's a workhorse. Our old one was definitely on its way out, but when I brought this one in I couldn't believe how LITTLE the old one had been doing, even when it had been working properly. Also, our basement is about 1,100 sq. ft. and I can put this dehumidifier in a room on one side of the basement and it'll still reduce the humidity on the opposite side of the house.- I like the multiple setting options. If it's in our main room, we need it to be more quiet so it's nice to be able to turn it down for a while. But mostly we leave it on auto and let it adjust itself as needed based on the humidity level. For a while it was always on high and I thought maybe it never would go down to low. Then it finally stopped raining and it not only dried out the basement to the point where it could run on low, it was actually able to turn off for a time. (Humidity level verified by 2 different hygrometers.) Our old one had an auto setting but I don't think it ever ran on anything but high.- Bucket holds lots of water.- The app! I have other Govee products so I already had the app and was happy to be able to link this one to it. I love that I can easily change the setting, turn it on or off, or see what it's doing right from my phone. I also have it linked to a Govee Hygrometer (https://amzn.to/3SnGuSe), so I can move the hygrometer to a different room and the dehumidifier will work to get the humidity down to the preferred level where the hygrometer is instead of measuring the level where the dehumidifier is.- It was relatively inexpensive for what I was seeing available at the time. Definitely a good value.- The noise level is basically as expected. It makes some noise but it's not horrible. I wouldn't put it right next to you while trying to watch TV, but it can be in the same room without causing a noise problem. (We moved ours out of the TV area mostly because of the heat it throws.)We've only had Govee products for about 2 years, but the water sensors (https://amzn.to/4fK9mgx) have already saved us from a leak in the basement bathroom that would've ended up causing mold since we otherwise wouldn't have seen it, so for now I'm very satisfied with every product I've bought from this brand and will stick with them for a while.

Excellent customer service and great product
Worked great for 2 years , ran it non-stop during the summers . One day the water bin was dry no matter how long it ran. I opened a support ticket and they determined the unit failed - 2 years later . They sent me a brand new one . That is excellent customer support.

Good Dehumidifier
I’ve had this dehumidifier for over a year now, and it has held up perfectly. I mainly run it during the summer months to combat the intense South Texas humidity, and it works incredibly well. It pulls so much moisture from the air that I usually empty the tank 4-5 times a day. It has made a massive difference in the comfort of my home. Highly recommend!

Disappointed after 14 months
I bought 2 of these 14 months ago, and two weeks ago they stopped working at the same time. They both suddenly stopped draining through their hoses, and one isn't removing moisture at all (no water from the hose and no water filling the tank). Up until this point, I was very happy with them.I tried to level them on my old basement floor, as suggested, and then tried restarting. Looked for a way to reset them, or at least reset their floats and couldn't find a way. Nothing has worked and it's very frustrating.Looks like I might be off to find more trustworthy replacements.

Amazing customer service!
The first unit I received didn’t turn on. I thought it must be something I’m doing wrong, so I reached out to goveelife support. They gave me few troubleshoot instructions. None of them worked. Without asking any other questions THEY SENT ANOTHER ONE! Which came in 3-4 days.I don’t normally post too many reviews for things but this customer service stood out to me. If you are considering getting it, do it.Now as for the product itself, I only used it for two days. But it seems to work amazing. I emptied out buckets of water already from my house which I didn’t really think would happen except for the basement or maybe the bathroom. But this pulled plenty water from the rooms and everything. So far this product is amazing. Not sure what the lifecycle of this would be but from their customer service I’m hopeful that if there are any problems they would help me fix it.One thing I must mention is, this unit is not quiet, it’s also quite heavy. Both negligible to me as I don’t plan on using this daily. Couple times a week maybe. I got the MAX version. If you are considering it, just get it. I fear mold and I can confidently say now that stress has reduced

Huge Difference in Basement Humidity – Worth It!
I bought this GoveeLife dehumidifier for my basement and I’m honestly impressed. Within a couple of days, the condensation on my windows completely disappeared and the air feels noticeably fresher,It turns on and off automatically to maintain the humidity level, which is normal and helps save energy. It’s not too loud, and the tank is easy to empty. I also like that I can monitor and control it from my phone. If you’re dealing with dampness or mold concerns, especially in a basement, this makes a big difference. Definitely recommend.

Great featured dehumidifier.
We have become big fans of Govee products. This dehumidifier is no exception. We used it for some dampness in our basement at first but it really helped in other areas too. The smart features are great as I didn't have to go check on it. When it was full it told me. I used it in quite a big space and you could instantly feel the moisture lower.

Works great, would recommend.
Great dehumidifier. I haven’t had any issues with it and have been using it for a while. It’s easy to empty and it was easy to setup. We use it in our basement, I put it in the hallway and it helps all the adjoining rooms stay at a good humidity.

Very Happy So Far!
Very efficient and decently quiet. I love the smart capabilities, including having the extra hygrometer linked to the dehumidifier to control it. Genius and exactly what I needed. This one unit controls the humidity of my entire home. I am impressed. Great price on sale too!
