Easy fit - the image here is wrong
I watched a YouTube video re fitting, but it is very straightforward and no tools etc are needed. As soon as the new needle was fitted there was a big difference in performance.

Rega Carbon Replacement Stylus
The Carbon cartridge comes as standard on the Rega Planar 1 deck and from new requires about 50 hrs playing time BEFORE it will give of its best. This stylus is the replacement stylus that you will require and though a bit fiddly to fit does the job. I required a new stylus about 8 months from the purchase of the deck-but then I listen to a lot of recordsHINT-keep some sort of log to keep a track of your usage and don't forget that you can start damaging your records before you can actually hear that the sylus needs replacing
