I’m sure others may enjoy this story, but I struggled to get through reading it with my daughter because the theme of infant/pregnancy loss hit too close to home. We couldn’t finish the book and decided to move on from it to something less depressing.

My 9 year old daughter (who hasn't caught the reading love bug I so desperately want her to catch) was adamant about me reading this with her and she loves the book. We are currently reading it together and it's her second time reading it.

This is a wonderful story. A story of how broken hearts are healed with love. A story of how hearts can be healed through opening one's heart and allowing for the possibility love and healing to take place.

This is a lovely book. I’ve used it with my class many times. It is a touching story and an excellent way to discuss the complexities of grief.

I do not want to say what the story is about. And please DO NOT read the back ad. It's a short story, intended for teens but substantiative enough for adult readers as well. McLachlan is a powerful writer who knows how to make readers engage. It is a fabulous story that could easily be used in book clubs; especially because it is such a quick and satisfying read.

Good book for middle school age children. It addressed some important issues for this family. I would recommend it for anyone.

Wonderful thought provoking book about families, loss & relationships.

Interesting for my 5 months old.

捨てられていた赤ちゃんを引き取り、暮らしていく一家の物語です。作品そのものが短いので、あっという間に季節が変わってしまって、あっけない感じがしますが、最後は感動的です。児童向けに書かれた作品なので、難しい単語もそんなには出てきていません。結構簡単に読めますよ。
