Bought them for inside pool on shelf.They definitely can float if you have good balance. Read somewhere that if you drill some holes they would for shelf. It still floated, ended up adding 25 lbs of river rocks along with the holes to let it fill with water. Now they stay in place even with splashing water movement. Do not know if they will last as long as the much more expensive product sold as in pool shelf chairs. Bought brown- one to help solar warm water, not show the dirt and over time that white discolors, with pool area the brown works and the price was less then more popular colors.

Not very comfortable or user friendly
The product is very sturdy and looks great. However, it is not a comfortable design. The photos appear that the people in them are lounging comfortably. That has not been the case. It creates pressure points on my upper spine when using on our sun shelf. Additionally, since they are designed to float, they do not sit well on the sun shelf for you to sit in them. Once seated, it stays in place but your feet bounce around a little if a child is splashing in the pool due to the wave motion. With the design of it not being weighted down, it is more difficult to get in and out of on the sun shelf, too. I point these out because they are not things I had thought of and would’ve been a deal breaker for me at this price point. My older daughter has used it alone in the pool on the sun shelf and said her feet were stationary. Overall, I would not purchase this again due to the lack of comfort. The pros are quality, looks, and the ability to use in and out of the pool.

folds up, unbalanced, heavy
I'll get back on it one more time for laughs and post a pic. length says 5'3" I'm 5'4" and I don't reach either end. It folds me up like a taco, tips over. YOU have to drill the holes for water to drain out. We haven't done that yet. It is ok on concrete if you CAN squat down, and get back up. I can NOT. Needs a lot of tweaking. Wait for the improved version. Buy a float! Way easier. This was a gift. I will tell the buyer. I don't want to hurt feelings though.
