This Seat's Saved: Elita Brown Book #1 (The Elita Brown Series)

Enchanting, Engaging, and Encouraging!
This enchanting book engaged my mind, heart, and soul. The author skillfully portrays the world and thoughts of 12-year-old Elita Brown, as she enters the uncertainties of middle school. The story brought back memories of my own junior high years (and the pain that accompanied not being invited to my best friend’s birthday party), caused me to squirm uncomfortably as the heroin underwent similar experiences, and left me rejoicing with the reminder of Jesus’ love and invitation–I too have a seat with Him! I plan to send copies to my mom, sisters, nieces, and friends–some (like me) need the reminder of what it means to be “seated with Christ” and others need to hear this truth for the first time! I encourage readers to check out the “think and talk about it” questions at the end of the book too!

What a wonderful book for young girls & moms 🫶🏼
I bought this book off a recommendation from a friend. I read it first and then my daughter read it. We enjoyed discussing it afterwards together. I think it does a beautiful job of talking through situations that happen at this age. Feeling left out, caught between child & young lady, liking boys, and not feeling cool in your own skin. Just all the things… Gives such a great viewpoint from God and letting girls know that no matter the situation, God loves & treasures them. Fantastic!

Great Read for Middle Schoolers
I bought this book as a summer reading gift for my 11yo granddaughter knowing she would soon be dealing with “drama junk” at school as a middle schooler. We started reading it together while she was here for a week’s stay, then she finished it on her own. This is what she text me today:“I finished this seats saved and it was the best book I’ve ever read hands down. It was SO GOOD. I kinda wish I could have been still reading it bc it was kinda like an adventure and it ALWAYS left me on a cliff hanger. Can’t wait to give it to you to finish and thank you soooo much for giving it to me! I will tell you one thing. She prayed to God to have joy in her life and at the end of the book she didn’t want people not to have a seat in the lunch room so where she sat she called people over and said hey come sit with me so anyway at the end she met this girl named Joy! That was prob my fav part!”Thank you, Heather Holleman, for writing this book!

A must read!!!
Before sharing it with young family members, I read it myself and was surprised at how it spoke to MY heart. A wonderful point of discussion with a tween…or with peers who still…after many decades still nurture scars of trying to be seated at the popular table. Author Heather Holleman beautifully brings the reader full circle to the importance of realizing how one can be seated at the most precious table …of Christ.

Incredibly Relatable
I wanted to say thank you for writing “This Seat’s Saved.” My daughter (13) and I read it together. She found it very relatable to her life. It’s crazy how much of the story was very similar to her current circumstances. Super tough season! 😢 We’ve been very intentional to sort through the situation and emotions to find the truth of who she is in Christ. She is reading the Bible to help define her identity and to discover who she is uniquely created to be. However, we appreciate this fictional story because it felt real! She was so encouraged by the relationship Elita had with Mrs. Burgley because we’ve just initiated a grandmother mentoring relationship in her life. But most of all, she’s learning to believe without a doubt in her heart and mind that she has the very best seat saved for her with Jesus. Please tell us you’re writing more! 😉

Can't put it down!!!
Over a weekend I read this to my grandkids, 8 year old boy/girl twins and 12 year old and we all totally loved this amazing book! 8 year olds are now looking at their Bibles and parking them on their beds. We sent videos to the author telling her how much we loved it. The 8 year old asked if she could write another book for them, please. She says that she is!!

Perfect summer read for my 12 year old
Thank you for the perfect summer read for my daughter. Highly recommend; I would sometimes read chapters to her at bedtime and we really enjoyed it and talking about how similar her lunch experience was in middle school and the lessons she learned from it. This book is sweet and relevant and I loved the Christ focused message in Ephesians. Bravo. Will recommend to many.
