It's a chunk of cork, but it's exactly what I wanted and works perfectly for me.
No complaints here. It's a chunk of cork. It protects the finish of the neck without scratching, and it's nice and stable so nothing moves, and allows you to use it as a backing when trying to hammer a fret back in. If you can't figure out how to use this, I'd be worried about you, as it's super easy to use. It's a great size which fits easily in my guitar tool box.

Essential for basic guitar maintenance
Works great to support either my acoustic or electric guitar when changing strings. Worth the cost.

Nice cork neck support
These work quite well. Good support for doing light setup work. Probably not as nice as Stew-Mac's rocker neck support, but this one is $70 dollars cheaper. If I was a pro luthier and doing setups all day long, I'd go for the Stew-Mac support.

Get one. Your guitar will thank you.
I've been playing guitar for over 50 years and have changed at least 100 sets of guitar strings, and have gotten along "just fine" without a neck rest... but it really does make the job go better when the guitar neck is stabilized. This same hard cork product is marketed under a variety of names. For me, it was a price decision. It does the job it was designed to do. I use it for guitar, mandolin, and banjo work... any time I want to stabilize the neck... whether for string changes or more involved work like working on the nut or the frets. Hey... they're inexpensive! Don't wait 50 years like I did.

Makes String Changing Easier
Very helpful during string changes. I used to just roll up a towel to support the neck but this holds the guitar much more securely making the job much easier. I am glad a bought this.

This neck rest works well and does the job. Just be sure to put as a stopper under it so it wont moves around which is like a wet tissues or a rubber matting for stability.
