Better then the original clips that come with the curler set. I do use them when styling as well when I need to pull back pieces for a short time.

I was looking for some tools which can help me to hold my hair rollers (for the volume and root lifting) while I am drying my hair. I felt uncomfortable while I have them on my hand. They are scratch my scalp because these crabs, even they made of plastic, they have very sharp ends on their paws. I think if you have thick or unmanageable hair, these hair clips can be good because they hold your hair very good. I have thin scalp thin and fine hair and I feel a bit uncomfortable while I am using these clips.

These clips are sooo much better than the R-shaped metal things my hot rollers came with. Once I put the clip onto the roller, the roller actually stays in my hair, which is the whole paint of rollers. It's much easier to use than the metal things. The only thing is that the clips are prone to breaking into two pieces, which of course, ruins them. Knowing this, I still prefer the clips over the R-shaped metal things and will buy more. I might buy a different brand to test whether they break as easily, though.

I use these when I use hot rollers. (Not often)They keep the heat off my head and the hair against the rollers.They are a bit flimsy but still perform the intended use.I do not recommend using these with brush rollers.
