Converse Chuck Taylor Slip On Shoes in Black (IT366)

Show off your grunge cred without ever tying a shoe again!
As far back as I can recall, I had two pairs of ankle high converse chuck taylors. One pair in white and the other in black. LIke other skater teens of the time, my shoes had a myriad of designs and anti establishment symbolism. But every skater punk grows up into an old fart who can't bend over and tie their shoes as easily as they used to. Ever since my hip injury in the military, I have become addicted to slip on shoes. These chucks were the answer to my dreams. I generally get them a half size too larger to give myself a little big of wiggle room, but otherwise the fit is exactly as expected and they are generally comfortable.I couldn't give this a 5 star review because I do have two big points of discomfort with the shoes.1. The soles are pretty thin and if I do to much hard impact walking in them, my feet are pretty sore/flat the next day.2. The soles of the shoes are EXTREMELY SLIPPERY! I nearly slip on all wet surfaces or smooth metallic surfaces. I really like the easy and look, but these shoes have nearly made me fall on my butt a number of times. They really slip pretty quickly the moment they hit the right material.I don't regret buying them, but they will need serious insoles and something to add more traction to the soles before I would really wear them around a lot.

Nice Shoes, color a little off
I ordered the charcoal and they are a little lighter than in the picture, which for me was a disappointment. I like the color in the picture, but the shoes are still cute. I was pretty concerned about how these would fit, since they are narrow shoes. I normally wear a women's size 8 1/2 and have somewhat wide/flat feet (hence the cute cons instead of sandals lol). I settled on size 8 womens/6 mens. They are the perfect size length wise for me. Maybe if I had narrow feet, I could have gone a half size smaller, but having wide feet, a half size smaller than normal worked for me. They are tight, but not to the point that I won't be able to wear them, and I am assuming they will stretch with wear. I just got them today and I am already on the hunt for a good deal on a pair of black or navy ones as well as maybe a black pair with laces. All in all, for 39 bucks I am thrilled with my purchase and can't wait for my next pair!

perfect for the non-shoe-wearing elite
I've been wearing these shoes for years. Seeing as I work from home, the slip on option is the perfect one for me to use on the few opportunities I actually find myself getting outside of the house. Many people might find that these don't have the right support for any form of actual walking or anything like that, but for me, a man who doesn't really like shoes, these are the perfect alternative, allowing me to just slip them on with no socks and get around without feeling like my feet are trapped in some sort of iron maiden-esque contraption. And they keep my feel slightly warmer than the sandals I used to wear all winter long (which is dangerous here in Wisconsin). If only I could find more color options for the slip ons, then I'd be in heaven...also...if they came with odor-eaters :-)

hiked a volcano in these slip on shoes!
I don't really need a lot of arch support. these are a good slip ons and they look cute with pants, shorts, a dress, a skirt whatever. They are surprisingly durable. I was in Guatemala in June 2016 and my hiking boot zipper ripped the morning we were going to hike Volcán San Pedro at Lake Atitlan. All I had left were these slip on Chuck Ts! That volcano is 5 miles up (starting at ~5,000 feet gaining about 5,000 feet in climb, so the top is just under 10,000 feet to the top). Everyone was shocked I made that hike in these slip on shoes! It was not what I would recommend, but I only had one small blister on my big toe the next day. I did feel every rock on the way down, and only kinda of slipped once (I was pretty much running at this point as I so wanted off that mountain!). They were dusty but overall, still in great shape after it was done!

A great pair of shoes
This is my second pair of this exact pair of shoes. I bought a pair few years ago and wore them out at my job as a barista. I recently decided to buy a new pair for work because they are cute and neutral and can double as casual shoes outside of work. They are converse, so they're very flat. There is NO arch support, so be prepared. They should be fine for casual use however. If you're going to wear them and stand or walk for long periods of time, like I do, then you'll want to invest in some insoles. I also suggest, like the others, going a size smaller. I did a half size and that leaves me a little space for my insoles and they fit perfectly.

It Helps to Read the Reviews!
Of course, one of the reasons to read reviews is to figure how an item looks; nonetheless, an even better reason is to find out how an item fits. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that the majority of the writers of these reviews, were ticked off because the shoes, even the guys', were the wrong size. Thus, I ordered two - sizes that would have been too large & VOILA! THEY FIT PERFECTLY! My son normally wears an eight in a shoe; however, in a Chuck Taylor All - Star, his foot fits a ten...I kid you not!ileta A. Sumner, esq.

Good shoe
I'm normally an 8 but reviews said it came up large so opted for 7.5 and they fit perfectly. The black is a little faded looking and not the jet black I was hoping for, more like a charcoal black/grey.
