This has been an absolutely bargain buy that does exactly what I wanted. I was sick of sticky fly strips hanging in my kitchen and I didn’t want to keep my doors and windows closed so the flys didn’t get in. This lamp gets switch on early evening and it starts popping and fizzing straight away with flys, moths and the odd wasp or two. I give a quick clean out every morning by just twisting the base off, a dust off with the brush included and then repeat. I’m even considering getting a second one for in the conservatory.

Ok, this thing is quite good. It works best at night but also works reasonably well during the day. It looks very different than the rest of the insect zappers on amazon and that's why I like it, it's mains powered which is good and doesn't require recharging all the time, it's relatively small and can sit on a table work top without taking up too much space. The compact fluorescent lamp can be replaced and the replacements are available on Amazon also which is nice, not a lot of the others provide this feature. It can be hanged, but if hung to high you'll end up using an extension lead as the provided mains cable is quite short considering. The removable base tray is a bit fiddly to remove and replace but does catch the larger insects effectively, the small gnats and midges literally blow up when contacting the elements which mean they don't fall into the catch tray but end up on the surface the insect zapper is sitting on. Now you will get a smell of fried insects if it's dispatching house flies and anything that size on a regular basis, but for me on very warm nights that we're having in summer of 2026 with the windows open it's mainly the smaller flying bugs that it excels at. Pretty easy to set up and use, literally straight out of the box, plug it in and switch it on. It comes with a small stick brush and a UV test card which is nice. It's easy to clean, unplug the zapper, remove the catch tray empty and wipe down, use the included brush to wipe down any insect reside on the elements. All in all a good purchase to deal with flying insects mainly in the summer.

Attractive looking and I was very pleased with it when I unpacked it and got it working..... except it didn't! Sadly, the many summer flies in my kitchen didn't even notice it. It shone brightly for 6 hours or so and didn't kill a single one... So it's gone back. Maybe it might work in the dark, but that's not what I wanted it for.

It's a loud crack when it zapps a bug , makes my dog jump, but it's really affective and a nice size.

Best insect zapper we have had. Hangs in the open kitchen window up until we close the window when we go to bed, seems to attract everything that enters it, and is regularly zapping. Great value for money.

This only attracted and killed about half of the flying insects in the room. It did work when the insect flew into the electric bars. It was easy to clean using the supplied brush and the unscrewing the bottom collection tray made emptying easy. It worked for about nine months and then broke.

Was a little concerned at first but as soon as darkness fell the UV showed its worth, attracting the little blighters to their deservedly painful death. It was great sport hearing each fly explode and what was a tranquil evening soon turned it something more reminiscent of bonfire night. As each fly and nat exploded a loud bang ran through the house followed by a load cheer from each family member. The dog wasnt too impressed, he suffers from noise anxiety so retired early to pant heavily on his bed. I’m thinking of buying a few more and hosting a wedding parties next summer. In all seriousness it works a treat and I can’t wait until round two later this evening.

I'd give 10 stars if I could. Over the years we have had different types of Fly Zappers . This is the Best we have ever had . Brilliant never had one that works so well. Brilliant.Great value for money.

Wir haben dieses Gerät wegen einer Fruchtfliegenplage angeschafft. Uns war damals wichtig, dass wir nichts mit Gift verwenden, aber die Fruchtfliegen mussten weg. Das Gerät ist sehr effektiv. In der Nacht glüht es bläulich, wie ein Atomreaktor. Diese Power hat es wahrscheinlich auch, denn es ist laut! Mich stört es nicht, denn dann weiß ich, dass der Killer wieder zugeschlagen hat. Gegen Mücken hilft es natürlich nicht, es ist in der Küche aufgestellt, aber in jeder Hinsicht nützlich gegen Fruchtfliegen. Stellt dieses Ding in eure Küche, vielleicht noch ein oder zwei fleischfressende Pflanzen dazu und ihr werdet keine Probleme haben. Schön ist vor allem, dass das Gerät einen Ein- und Ausschalter hat. Zudem ist es schön designt. Die Schutzstangen verhindern, dass man sich verletzen kann. Für mich muss das Gerät nicht mehr können. Für diese Rezession muss ich die Wasserdichte bewerten. Ich habe das Gerät aber keinem Wasser ausgesetzt und würde es auch nicht empfehlen. Das Gerät war bei mir den kompletten Sommer und Herbst über in Betrieb und hat bisher immer gut funktioniert. Anfangs hatten wir die Befürchtung, dass es für unsere Katze wegen eventueller hoher Töne störend wäre, aber wir haben nichts derartiges bemerkt.

A la media hora de ponerlo, empieza el espectáculo. Pega unos calambrazos que asustan pero vale la pena, oye ni un mosquito mas me picó :) y eso lo valoro mucho ya que me atacaban día/noche y era desesperante. Este aparato no tiene nada que ver con los del bazar ya que tiene mas potencia, lo cual lo recomiendo sin duda. A mi NO me lo han regalado como otros que opinan, lo he comprado por 34,99€ para probar ya que tenía opción de devolución pero he acertado. Espero haber ayudado como usuaria confiable y clienta de Amazon desde 2016. Un saludo a tod@s los que dudan mucho antes de comprar como yo ;)

Very effective at drawing drywood termite swarmers (yeah, disturbing that I should be admitting that). Doesn't kill them very effectively though, but... if you mount the unit with the base removed over a soapy water dish, that will do the trick. DISCLAIMER: If you do that, please be safe and plug the unit into a GFCI protected outlet!!! Fairly easy to clear out the dead bugs from the base.
