The best pot for curry.
This has been one of the best buys I have made in a long time. My husband received a curry book for his birthday and he wants to try every recipe in the book. It is advised that you use a Karachi because they have heavy bottoms and don't allow the spices to burn. I'm so glad that I did because these curries are actually better than any takeaway we have ever tried. I would recommend anyone who likes to cook curry to buy one and this particular one is perfection and so easy to clean.

This deep fry pan is awesome! I have the 3.5 Kadai and wanted a larger one to cook bigger meals in and this one is perfect! I tried to take a few images to show you guys just how large this is next to a can of chicken broth. I was making Hoppin' John tonight so thought I would break in the 7.5L pot! It fried the bacon pieces perfectly, added the sausage then all the veggies. I cannot wait to make some favorite Curries and Cabbage Baiji as well as German Red Cabbage and other great food! It cleans very well, just like my 3.5L. I would absolutely recommend this for those wanting to deep fry (which I do not do) or for larger meals, even as a wok!

Last buy was a year back. This was our second purchase of the same Futura Hard Anodized Deep Fry Pan of 3.75L capacity. First one I purchased without the lid option and second one with lid. Second one was purchased after around a year of use of the first one and we were very happy with the quality and utility of this pan in our kitchen. So overall using the product for more than 2 years. Both the pans have lived up to its brand image and quality we would expect after spending this much money. The pan is not damaged in any way other than minor wear and tear. We use stainless steel ladles and pan has not been scratched or stained in any way. The handles have stayed intact and have stayed tight as they were on a new product. Stainless steel lid fits perfectly and has a nice wooden handle for lifting. Side handles are also wooden (wood attached to metal). So non of the handles will feel hot while cooking or lifting the lid or pan after cooking. The wooden handle on lid showing slight movement now but it is not coming out. Material is thick and heavy so items not get burned easily which happens some times when a thin steel pan is used. Ofcourse it takes a little longer for the pan to get hot compared to a thinner vessel. About Hard-Anodized Aluminum - Anodization is an electro chemical process when subjected to the surface of aluminum vessels, builds up the metal's natural coating of oxide.which results in a hard, nonreactive substance that forms a tough coating. This anodized aluminum cooking surface is very tough, non-sticky and scratch-resistant and also easy to clean. Anodization changes the microscopic structure of metal surface and that layer does not get peeled like in what happens in case of Teflon coated utensils. So hard anodized utensils although not as non sticky as Teflon coated ones are typically longer lasting. Overall very happy with the purchase and would recommend it to any one looking for a good cooking and frying pan/kadai for their kitchen. Update - these Hawkins hard anodized units are going strong after more than two year of daily use for the two units. The surface finish, handles and SS lids have all worked well and no problem faced. Pictures added are after long term use. Thanks to Hawkins on living upto the quality expectations.
