Clean Easy Shave...even on a Husky
I rescued a dog who is terrified of normal fur trimmers, because of the noise. I bought this in a last ditch effort to get the matting out of his fur. It works like a dream. It seems to cause him zero discomfort and his incredibly thick fur basically fell of with how sharp this razor was. Stropping between sessions was required, but I fully expected that when I set out to shave an 80lb dog. Remarkably, the razor seems to also be completely unharmed and still gains and holds a very sharp edge. Not sure what I'm going to use it for now, but this product is really well made.

Great shave
I was shocked at how much closer this can shave you than a traditional razor. I have a nice clean shave for two solid days or longer when I use this. I also like that permanent fixed blade over a thin replaceable one. This is a solid old school king that delivers!

Needs sharpen
It's a good beginner razor, not super sharp out of the box but all in all it's good. Love the design and bang for the buck if it's your first time using and are interested it switching to a straight razor over refillables.

Decent razor to start
The blade is sharp but not sharp enough to use right out of the box. Blade quality feels decent, especially for the price.

Strop before you shave.
It’s not as sharp as disposable half-blades, and they leave some stubble below the ear near the jawline. It’s a hard spot to get with the long blade. – But if you strop it before you start, though the blade may be like using import Asmusebats, they leave a clean shave.I didn’t get any cut on my skin on the first use. You also have to push a little harder. I just don’t think they cut as deep as disposable half-blades. Plus you get a finer quality with the disposables.Overall, nice to keep as a choice. If you don’t want to waste your half-blades and just clean your beard up in a hurry, get one of these. – Going out? Use a half-blade.

Absolute worst shave i've ever had
Took it straight out of the package, stropped, and shaved with it, well, tried to. It was more dull than a fish knife. Shave sharp is NOT hard to do, even in a cheap factory, but this wasn't even good enough to shave with. After a pass, full of catches and pulls, it almost looked like I just scraped the cream off. Strop is also not great, the linen side is fine, but the "leather" side feels and looks like a vinyl swatch. Don't waste your time and money.

Warped blade
I didn’t notice there was a bend in the blade when I first opened the razor. Thinking I could fix it, I threw it on my finest honing stone and attempted to correct the edge and remove the grind marks. After a few passes the grind marks were gone and the edge was more even, but it still had an uneven taper one side towards the tip. After several more passes and no progress, I held it to the light that I noticed a curve. While I was able to get it relatively sharp (compared to a pocket knife) I wouldn’t don’t recommend this product, and I wish I hadn’t cheated out and just bought something better.Update: I finally broke down and bought a Dovo. I practically stole it at $85, and there’s no comparison. The Dovo shaves like a knife through warm butter and this is like shaving with a fairly sharp pocket knife. It’s possible to shave with, and gets the job done, but not very well. I’m by no means sponsored by Dovo, but highly recommend them if you’re looking for a great straight razor. They’re a expensive but worth the money in my opinion.
