I like the heft of this tool. It is rugged and quality. It makes priming cases easy except it takes a good bit of hand strength. You don't have the leverage you do with a bench press. It was essy to change from small to large primer seater and to adjust the depth of seating. The storage case is perfect and has most of the shell holders you could ever want. Changing them is a snap. My only complaint is a small one. They only included one spring for the plunger. It would have been nice to have two just in case you lose one.

This makes priming the quickest stage in my reloading setup. This is a must have for budget reloaders. I mainly us 308 but it can do anything. Glad I spent the money on this tool.

I'll start with the bad. My main beef with the priming tool I received is the disappointment of recognizing it's an older design model which has a couple inconvenient design flaws which have been engineered out in the new design soas to have a more efficient and ergonomic functional priming. I feel a little swindled because the model the seller shows in the images is the newer model, but they're sending an older model to the customers. I will give it a fair trial, but it will be going back if I have any issues. I don't take dishonesty lightly, and the only reason I'm going to give it a trial is because the price was decent at $57.99 for the Frankford Arsenal Platinum Series Perfect Seat Hand Primer Seating Tool with Case. Now for the good. It has some heft to it, and although it's the older design it's still a decently engineered design which still appears to be built like a tank to last forever. The ability to adjust the primer depth is a very very very nice bonus feature for a more precise and consistently reliable shooting experience between rounds. I really like variety of case holders which come with the priming tool which covers all the calibers I will be hand-loading. The case is a nice feature for storage and organizing, although I would have preferred a case with an actual piano hinge on it rather than just a thin flexible plastic hinge (you know what eventually happens to that type of hinge). Lastly, if the seller reads this review, realizes their misleading advertisement with the wrong images and offers to send me the correct one, my review will improve and I'll update this review to reflect their efforts taken to value and satisfy their customers.

Works like I ecpected it too. I have the seating depth set up to where it leaves a very slight indention from the seating ram, makes it easy to verify the seating depth is the same round to round. The linear primer on my Lyman Victory Press is fine if PRS isn't a concern, but the seating depth was too inconsistent for my purposes. The press itself is solid though. It is a little pricey for a hand primer, but it's built like a brick outhouse, buy one cry once. I don't think I have to worry about it breaking. I don't really plan on using any of the other shell holders other than the one cartridge I load for, but I might try some brass with small rifle primer pockets, now that I have a priming tool that can do both.

This is the best hand primer I have ever tried. I bought this because one I am sick to death of buying replacement after replacements for either the L** or the H*****y hand primers. Two, I have had enough bites taken out of the web of my thumb and forefinger or blisters caused by the L** and H*****y hand primers. Three, the seating depth is adjustable which the others don't have as a feature. That's extremely important for precision reloading. I found this hand primers to be a bit heavy but very comfortable to use. I got around to actually using it today and it seated five hundred large pistol primers without any error. Not even a lost primer. Making sure the primers are all right side up is a breeze. This tray actually does that! The tray also features a closeable gate I love this tray! Great. So far so good. Then I started priming some 223/5.56 and ... I was actually loading some Speer nickel plated 223. I hadn't reamed out the primer pocket. With a 5.56 military shell I would always do that but this is 223. My bad. Rather than primer the case, in a couple of cases the rim was torn off. I take that as an indication of the strength of this hand primer. I'll count that in the positive column and make sure I ream out this brand of 223. The only downside I can see is the price. As I mentioned I have gone through at least five each of the L** and H****y primers, so if this lasts, it is actually cheaper. Also it includes a variety of shell holders which you have to buy separately for the other two models. So depending on how many sizes you need that alone makes the price competitive. My conclusion? I would recommend this to anybody who is interested in reloading.

This is the third tool I've tried priming with, and barring any catastrophic failures, it will be the last. Priming on the press is terrible, and my ancient Lee AutoPrime just wasn't cutting it any more, so I spent the money on this and haven't looked back. First off, it's FAST. I just ripped through a tray of 50 cases in 3 minutes, 51 seconds. That includes a brief pause in the middle to adjust seating depth when I switched to another headstamp. That change in depth was simple. Three clicks on the dial and the primers were seated to the perfect depth. While it is a little heavy, it's well-designed and comfortable to use. If I had any complaints, it's that the tray does a worse-than-average job of flipping primers. That said, I've never used one that worked all that well anyway, and I'm getting pretty quick at flipping them with a set of tweezers. The feed shutoff on the tray is a nice touch. I've got several Frankford Arsenal tools on my bench, and they've all been rock-solid purchases. This priming tool is no exception.
