Best fountain yet, all 5 cats love it! Small, compact & stylish. The brita/pur fountain for pets.
The media could not be loaded. Long story short, an unexpected addition to the household had me in the market for another water fountain. Based on the reviews and price I’ve been eyeing the Pawaii for awhile, but taking in an abandoned kitten during Prime Day week was the excuse needed to justify buying it.The Pawaii is being used in a multi-pet environment of 5 cats (2 seniors, 2 adults, one kitten) and 1 dog (adult beagle/dachshund mix) as testers. Through the years I have had experience with various brands and models of water fountains but this will be the first “wireless” and capsule style in a household with 6 other pet fountains. Out of the box, the unit was much lighter than anticipated, but what really grabbed my attention was the filter. The filter is NOT one of those light-weight cotton outer layer charcoal filters. We’re talking heavy-duty NSF-certified … think Pur or Brita style construction for your pet fountain that not only traps fur and other debris, but gets rid of heavy metals and odors associated with chlorine to give your pets odorless, clear water. Much like other filters, you will need to soak the filter in a container prior to first use to remove any dust residue. The fountain is easy to assemble since you’re working with 4 parts that all snap together (one of which is the filter). Charging the fountain is like most power devices… blinking green light is charging, solid green light is fully charged. I haven’t timed how long it takes to charge from empty to full, but will try to remember the next time. When not plugged in, there’s a cover flap to protect the charging port when not in use. Unfortunately, I had to remove mine thanks to a determined kitten set on clawing & chewing it off since the fountain has no wires out to chew.Other stuff I like:- The battery works in a power outage! I recently discovered the pets have access to clean, fresh drinking water even during a power outage! Summer storms, downed trees, rolling blackouts, hurricanes, blizzards etc. that 5000mAh capacity battery will keep the water circulating & blue light for as long as it has a charge. It will also help you get your bearings in a pitch black house.- No wires. No wires for the kitten to chew as well as one less wire to pack for the weekend jaunt.- It looks good. Granted, it’s a little smaller than expected for holding 68 oz of water, but small and compact does have the advantage of being easy to move without needing a wall outlet available & it does fit almost anywhere (even as a centerpiece on a table!). I recently discovered the fountain was directly in the path of the afternoon sun as we come into the fall season. Moving the unit to the other side of the room (not accessible to a wall outlet) got the cats back to drinking cool water.- Unit is easy to assemble and take apart to clean- The smart reminder of flashing yellow does come in handy when it’s time to replace the filter and red when battery is low. The reservoir is semi-transparent so you can see the water level.- Replacement filters are only available direct from the company which is a good thing at this time. As long as the company is in business, you have filters. The cost will run you approximately $54 per year (24.99 per 6 pack x 2 for 12 months + tax) or ~4.50 each which is higher than most filters, but has no clone competitor at this time and it does reduce & remove more chemicals than most others. On the other hand, like many high efficiency filters, you can reset the fountain and replace the filter every 60 days or every other month depending on your individual situation.- Fountain height is comfortable for my 2 senior cats with orthopedic conditions or limited mobility affecting the neck. It also may not collect as much dust due to elevation from ground.- The fountain has spring surge mode to attract pets by automatically turning on the faucet to aerate the water oxygen content as needed.- The fountain is very quiet almost no sound. The pump and water flow are so quiet that whether you have it set on continuous flow or auto dispense for aeration it’s hard to tell if it’s working. More than once I’ve had to manually check to confirm water flow while the blue light was on. The flow is a subtle waterfall with a slight ripple effect that’s great for pets who don’t like splashing water. After trying all 3 modes, the pets seem to like the sensor mode best.- BPA free plastic & components.- Has a modern aesthetically pleasing design- Increased Urination: You will start going through cat litter more quickly as your fur babies are consuming more water, and what goes in must come out. That’s not really a bad thing but it is something I did notice which translates to cleaning the litter box more frequently and buying more litter as well.- This is the favorite fountain of all the pets!Cons:- The usb charging cable is short (approx. a foot or 12 inches). Thankfully, most of you will probably have a longer one from another device at home that can be substituted if needed.- There is no light indicator for when the water level is low. A manual check is required unless you are able to eyeball the level.- Filter replacement reset can be tricky. The first 2 times were changed without incident, but the 3rd month was a challenge getting back to the blue light. The actual functioning of the unit was not changed, however the system refused to acknowledge the new filter so I was rewarded with a constant blinking yellow light. I even opened another new filter to see if that was the problem, which it wasn’t. I eventually taped over the yellow blinking light with blue painters tape to make the cats happy. Four days later I tried to reset again and it worked! 4 long presses, removed the painters tape and things were back to normal. It could have been operator error. The next change was without incident. Just a FYI.Overall, this has been one of my best buys for 2023 and the winner of 5 cats 4-paws award (and I’m speaking on behalf of all the cats). As for Vespa (the kitten), this is not just a fountain but her favorite toy and sleeping buddy. She has become quite possessive of it. What's not to love? I can’t say too much on durability since I’ve owned the fountain less than 6 months, but will update on any changes. 5-stars!

BEST Automatic Water Fountain
We primarily got this water fountain because our previous one (pump on wire type) was deemed too dangerous due to several reasons. Firstly, there’s the risk of electric shock if the pump’s insulation fails or if the wires become exposed due to wear and tear, which can be a danger not only to your cat but also to anyone handling the fountain. Secondly, if the wires are within the cat’s reach, they might chew or play with them. Lastly, submerged pumps can also increase the likelihood of bacterial or mold growth if not cleaned regularly or properly, which could lead to health issues for your cat. This water fountain crossed every box for us! We wanted a fountain with external battery/wiring to operate the pump and battery powered to prevent exposed wires near our cats. That is exactly what we got and more! The motion sensor works great and always starts when a cat is near. Due to the sensor, the fountain battery life lasts between 10-14 days depending on usage and that’s with 3 cats! It charges fairly quick but can be used while it’s charging so plug it in for a few hours and you’re good for weeks. The filters are actually better than any cat fountain filter I’ve used. I’ve been through dozens of fountains and they all had cheap filters. These filters aren’t cheap but they work very well. Anytime I’ve opened the fountain, there is no gunk built up anywhere or in the water. One cool feature I like to note is that it does a “cleaning” cycle every 8 hours which is when it pumps water aggressively to clear the water bowl from hair/residue. It’s a nice touch but I will say you can here the pump if you’re close by for 30 seconds or so. Despite that, it is very quiet! All in all, I’d highly recommend this fountain to every cat owner! Best way to keep your pet safe and healthy!

Do not Buy
I bought this product in November 2023 and have had nothing but problems with it. The first one I received would not charge. The replacement only worked for around a month. Today was the last straw! I noticed our cat was trying to drink the soapy water in our walk-in shower, so I checked the water dish. The tray was bone dry even though I fully charged it just three days ago. The manual says you should only have to charge it once a month. Ours has never lasted that long even when you leave it plugged in. The infrared light that should turn on with motion from the cat is not working. I turned it on manually and it is not pumping water into the tray. Who knows how long my cat went without fresh water! Probably since I charged it three days ago. Man, that made me so mad.The manual is horrible, and I tried several times to call customer support. I got a message saying “This line is not available at this time. Please try your call again later”. I’m done. It’s going in the trash!

They sent me a new one - Failing red light flashes
Worked great. Bought almost a year ago and the light flashes red right after charging. I made sure to change the filter and charge and does the same thing. No idea how to fix it.Edit:Reached out to customer service and they just replaced it! New unit is working perfectly and hope it stays that way.

Picky princess approves
My darling cat has a strong preference for water from the bathtub. After engaging in a standoff where she refused to drink from her water bowl, I gave in and purchased a water fountain. The wireless feature is great, I feel better knowing there's not a cord in the water and the battery lasts for weeks at a time. The design makes it easy to clean, although I usually use Q-tips to get the corners of the water opening. I use the motion-activated feature and it works well. My only complaint is how expensive the filters are, but it is what it is. This is one of the lowest prices I found for a wireless fountain.
