Designed by Emma Silvestris, its sea coral motif makes it a striking centerpiece perfect for fresh fruit or décor. Hand wash only, this premium bowl combines artistic design with practical size and quality materials, ideal for stylish, modern homes. ## Description An ode to the sea, its colours and life: the enchanting design of the Mediterraneo fruit bowl conceals careful attention to practical details. With its soft, organic design, the Mediterraneo fruit bowl, designed by Emma Silvestris and LPWK in 2005, celebrates coral and crystallises the magical aura of the undersea world in steel. The branches of the decoration delicately embrace the content, embracing fruit lightly and gracefully. Roomy, functional, durable and easy to clean, the Mediteraneo fruit bowl is made of stainless steel. With a simple and intuitive design, the designer offers us an object that is extremely permeable to air and light, a light and delicate presence. An organic and sinuous line that clearly states its inspiration, awakening our sensory memory and releasing its imaginative power. Emma Silvestris lives and works in Bari. She became a teacher and researcher after obtaining a BA in foreign literature and art history. Since 1990 she has worked in design, taking part in the Special Studio (Bari). Eclectic and versatile, her projects unite soft lines, geometry and ancient symbols. Metaproject designer Laura Polinoro wrote “L’officina Alessi” in 1989 about the projects of Alberto Alessi and Alessandro Mendini, with whom she founded the Alessi Study Center in 1990, a place of experimentation for professionals and young creatives. In 2000 she founded the LPWK Design Studio. Alessi is an iconic Italian design brand that brings art, poetry and excellence into everyday objects. Since establishment in 1921, Alessi has become a leader within the design industry. Alessi collaborates with more than 150 international designers, balancing industrial technology with the attention to detail typical of craftsmanship. Since 1921, the historic brand has gradually evolved, becoming a leading exponent of the “Factories of Italian design”. Alessi sees being a BCorp as a way of formally translating its long-standing way of “doing business”.
