Q: Can you recover this tool, is it easy to strip the covering off the top

I haven’t tried it, but it looks like 8 screws are holding the cushion top to the frame, so am guessing it’s to remove the cover. I had thought about it, but since you asked and I’m now thinking about it, I may do it to cover up the hole my dog chewed on one of the corners!

No way can you sit on his stool even in the collapsed position. In the collapsed position it is only 9 inches high, so could not sit on it whatever the weight you are. ,
