A great piece of history writing
A fantastic read - thoroughly well researched showing one young mans life alongside his 'War Horse' from 1914 -1918, and then their life after the war. Full of facts and many private photos which have been seen in public. A insight into, not only how a young soldier fresh from school and Sandhurst was pitched into the war to end all wars and the miracle of how they both survived, but also how a cavalry regiment fought through the arduous campaign.

An insight into the stoicism and courage of men like that who went off to war with their horse ...
This is a very special book, which has been well researched. A fascinating history of a world gone by. An insight into the stoicism and courage of men like that who went off to war with their horse and hoped for the best. And so many did not come back. A real lesson for our generation, and our children's generation. A very good read. Highly recommended.
