Bought 'used, very good grade' as a low cost starter set to teach someone backgammon.Its usable. But:- Only two playing dice (one black, one white), neither have their pips coloured, so good luck reading them in poor light or with poor vision.- No doubling dice.- Poor quality thin metal clasp.- Rough finish to the inner wood. Expect splinters if you run your finger along it.Its OK for a £10 wooden set, probably not worth the £25ish RRP.UPDATED from 2* to 3*. I tried to buy a few starter backgammon and chess sets for people this Xmas. This set was the first and I judged it a 2*. Having seen the subsequent ones I ordered .... their overall quality is dire, so this one rates a 3* (possibly even a 4* if it hadn't given me a splinter). In hindsight, its definitely one of the better starter sets I found.

I got what I paid for. Inexpensive (slightly smaller) backgammon boards formed in a neat wooden box. The only criticism is that the points are all dark coloured, they should alternate between black and white, or dark brown and beige. Otherwise they are fine.

Natural attractive wood and design. Medium sized and transportable for holidays. My 9 year old loves to play this game, which is good for concentration and counting.

A nice quality set. The indents on each triangle aren't properly aligned so they never line up correctly but for a travel set it's perfect, light and easy to set-up.
