Less bird poop on our minivan.
Quality is okay, for the price I guess it's good. I made a stand for it so I could put it on the garage roof near the tree where birds stop to rest and poop. I didn't do an in depth study on it's effectiveness, but it seems like there is a LOT less poop on the van. It may be too soon to tell, but ... I think it works, my wife is skeptical. I wish it was a bit better quality, but we'll see how long it lasts and how long it is effective. So far so good, but only a couple of days.Oh, fortunately I have a Turtle Sandbox in the backyard. The sand in it is now available for other duties (son out grew it). You do need to fill it with sand. With the weight of the sand it stays pretty well planted on the roof (on the stand I made).

Hate the way they mount
There are only so many things you can say about a fake plastic bird, lol. But my one gripe is that I hate the way they mount. There are three holes on the very bottom for three included screws. Welllll what if I don’t want to mount it that way? What if I’d rather from the side? Having a few different options would make this a better value for me.

Cool idea, if you can get it to work (wasn't assembled properly)...
Mine wasn't assembled properly - the head was off balance and when at rest it rotated 90 degrees to the left ( so it was usually looking over its left shoulder). Plus it wasn't really free to spin before the head rubbed against the body.Since so many people complain about such problems, I decided to fix it myself rather than return it.I could see that the head was attached to the spindle by 2 screws on top. but there were extra screw holes when they tried and failed to assemble it. looking underneath the head i could see that 1 of the screws completely missed the spindle, so the whole thing was off center. It took some finagling, but i was able to remove the head and the spindle. I made a 5/8 spacer from plywood to firmly reattach the head to the spindle. This also gave it some extra clearance so it could spin 360 degrees freely. ( I think they should modify the design to give it this extra clearance to solve many such problems)But as soon as i put in the wind panel in the back of the head, that made it rotate 90 degrees to the left again (because the body / shoulders tilt forward , the center of gravity of the head determines how it will will sit at rest). To fix this and get the head to face forward i put in a couple of screws in the front as a counterweightSeems Ok for now, but this is probably goin up on a sloped roof , which will make it virtually inaccessible if it needs further adjustment

Worked to deter pigeons
We have a backyard pool with a waterfall feature. Because we live in a hot, dry climate, the neighborhood pigeons like to use it as their bird bath. In the process, they end up pooping all over the rocks of the water feature, which is super gross. It makes it to where we were unable to use the waterfall, as it would wash poop into the pool. This is a common problem in our area. I have consulted other pool owners as to a solution for this problem, and nobody had any advice that worked. My pool man suggested getting a decoy owl to scare off pigeons. After comparing reviews of different models, I settled on this one, and I am so happy with it!It has eliminated about 95% of the pigeon population from our backyard. I am finally able to keep the waterfall running on our pool, without contaminating the pool with bird poop. It seems like the birds have warned their friends to stay away. I have waited a couple of weeks to leave this review, to make sure the effect would not wear off, and it hasn't. I am really happy with this owl in keeping pigeons away from our pool and yard.

Exceeded expectations
I always thought these decoys were a waste of money. I installed a new patio and gazebo in my yard and immediately had an issue with bird droppings all over my new concrete. I figured I’d try one of these owl decoys for the hell of it. I mounted it up high on the corner of my porch roof overlooking the patio and pool area. IDK if it’s dumb luck or what, but my bird issue was pretty much immediately eliminated! I’ll take it as a success! One thing worth mentioning: the head wasn’t turning freely when I assembled it. It was sticking on some rough plastic casting edges. A few quick swipes with some sandpaper and a couple drops of oil fixed that and it works perfectly now!

It works!
Before buying this owl I had birds breaking through bird netting to get to my tomatoes. I was skeptical but this thing actually works great! Great value and it works.

The head should rotate as promised
I am pretty satisfied with the product, but only after I made may second order of the same item. Otherwise I would give that a better rating. The producer is saying in the description that the head rotates at the slightest wind. The owl which I received in my first order did not. In fact the wind was some 10 miles per hour and the owl did not react. So I returned the first item and ordered the second owl just to see the result. The second own is rotating its head just fine. I assume the head should be well balanced, but I am using the same stick and no complaints at all with my second order.

Owl Decoy- Oct. 2023
Looks good for plastic fake owl. Hopefully, it can handled our New Mexico winds without its head blowing away lol
