Hawkins 1.5 Cup Tadka Pan, 360 ml Triply Stainless Steel Pan, Induction Pan, Silver (STP15)

I love this pan and use it every single day. I like that it is compact. This doesn't have the stand design intentionally so that you have to hold it, but I know it is not practical in daily busy life. But nothing that can't be dealt with in the kitchen. I just just rest it on the near by plate or cup and even if I don't it just stands an angle. Since i only use less than half of capacity for tadka, I am not worried. The bottom is thick and the whole thing heavier than you usual aluminum tadka pan. I have gas range and it does take a a minute longer to hear the oil because of how thick it is. But you can tell that is sturdy and you don't have to worry about replacing this for a long time, because there is no coating to chip off. Finally and very importantly, this can go in the dishwasher, but the other black ones can't. So, I would definitely recommend it.

Someone told me about this pot and I decided to order one to burn my garlic. It is very useful in the kitchen.

This is a very good pan. At first I was little concerned if it might spill out while tempering. But the key is to start and mid to low temp and using keeping the pan away from stove when too much h heat.

Beautiful pan that does the job well. Note: The specs say it isn't dishwasher safe because of the triple-ply construction, but it actually cleans up perfectly in the dishwasher.

This is a fantastic tadka pan, thick, right side bowl, easy grip on the handle etc. So why the one star? Because it is not even a little induction compatible, and that's why I bought it. I tried everything, putting water in it so it was a weighted pan, propping the handle on another pot so it sat flat on the stove, etc. Nothing doing. It won't work on an induction stove. One other reason for a low rating (although the induction part was enough for that), is that it's not well-balanced. You can't set it flat on the stove and walk away while the oil heats. You have to hold it up. So not so easy to use even on a gas stove for that matter, which reduces it's versatility even more in my view. Such a pity because I usually really like Hawkins products. Not this one.

This has really elevated my tarka game to new heights!! It's quite sturdy, really good quality and with a handle that doesn't let high temperatures affect it. Quite easy to clean too!

I was so pleased with the quality and weight of this little pan. I was unsure how successful it would be on my induction hob but from the very small base it heats up the side of the pan without overheating the long handle. The steel is thick and once to temperature retains the heat for long enough to fry my spices. The finish is beautiful and after washing it looks brand new. I'm looking forward to making little round fluffy omelettes in it from a recipe I saw on YouTube, Curries with Bumbi is the channel which is where I saw a similar pan. I hope it's ok to recommend a YouTube channel on here, because anybody learning about curries would love Bumbi and her recipes.
