Great for Support and Protection
After dislocating and breaking a couple toes and consequently being unable to walk without serious pain, I purchased this Vive walking shoe after a recommendation. I didn't hold much hope for it helping, but I was willing to try anything that would allow me to walk upstairs to my bathroom or go to the grocery store with less pain. Seriously, I had tears running down my face from pain when I went to the store before ordering this shoe, and it's not like I was wearing heels or some other ill-thought footwear when I went to pick up milk and fruit! I couldn't stand long enough to cook, really, or even get my mail from the mailbox during this time. Desperate for food a few days after breaking my toes I ordered a pizza. The kind delivery woman could see that I could barely stand to take the box and asked if I was okay, and I told her about my foot. She said "you should be wearing a boot!" I thanked her for the advice, and got on Amazon.com immediately after eating a few slices. Lots of boots to choose from on Amazon, in a wide array of price ranges. Since I had only broken a few toes, I decided a full boot was probably not necessary and narrowed it down to this Vive shoe and another, both of which had good reviews, and decided on the Vive. I purchased the Medium size which states in the description that it fits a US Women's shoe size of 8.5 to 10 I generally wear a US Women's size 8 or 8 1/2 depending on the shoe. As you can see from my uploaded image, the medium fits me just right with about 1/2 inches of room to spare for toe protection while wearing a pair of cushioned but not very thick socks. I recommend that if you wear a US Woman's size above 8 1/2 that you order a large. It may be a little big but you want to protect your toes - you wouldn't believe how many times I've inadvertently bumped my foot into things while going about my business, and this walking shoe saved me from both serious pain and perhaps further damaging my toes. I've only had this walking shoe for about 10 days and have worn it constantly when not sleeping or showering, and I'd wear it in the shower too if I had purchased two so that one would always be dry. It's pretty difficult to shower properly when one foot is basically unusable making one's balance unsteady! Since I had only ordered one shoe, I've been wearing a crocs on my other foot for balance although any shoe with a height of about 1 inch would work, or maybe even an athletic shoe. For me, my fuzz lined crocs shoe works because I can easily walk in them with socks and the height is right while also providing a similar sole feel as the Vive walking shoe. I haven't had any problems with the sole cracking as some reviews have stated, but I'm not really putting the shoe or my foot through the ringer. As I stated, it's been about 10 days of wearing it in the house, out for errands, walking the dog, and while working out daily. I'm super happy with this purchase, and if by some chance it does break before I'm healed I would just order another one at this price point. As some have noted, the straps are quite long. After wearing it for a while, I found a comfortable tightness and cut the straps accordingly. The two lower straps, the one over the toes and the one over the arch, have a piece of velcro that can be removed and replaced where needed. If I had one complaint it would be that the top strap closest to the ankle does not have this removable velcro. I've just been kind of tucking the excess under so that it doesn't snag on things. Overall, I'm super happy with this purchase. Great product!

Total game changer!
Total game changer and so worth buying! My 19 yo son had double leg surgery to help correct toe walking. I was of course grateful that the hospital sent him home with some type of cast shoe. With one cast it might have been fine but with two they were not very easy to walk in w/o them sliding all around and did not provide much cushion. His heels were already hurting from not used to walking on and then add in a hard cast and concrete subfloors in our house. These were perfect! Easy to put on and they stayed on like a shoe. They also alleviated the heel pain because of the cushioned supportive sole. I often forget to write reviews but these made his 5 weeks in casts so much more bearable. I'm one grateful mom for finding these and thankful that others have shared their experiences too that I could read.

Good product - get the right size
Perfect for my needs. Note: I went with Medium with my shoe size being an 8. It provides good space to protect my toes, I did not want them too close to the edge of the pad. Since it has a square toe, it keeps all toes on the pad, verses hanging over the edge. Comfortable and as snug as you want.

UPDATE: Get this one!!!!! It's great!
UPDATE: Love it! Get this one!!! I have tried several other brands and had to return them. Some cheaper, some similar price. Had big problems with every one of them and this one if just about perfect! Don't fuss around with others like I did. This one is well made, quality, comfortable as it can be under the circumstances, and does the job. Wish I had gotten this one first. It is a bit wide. I am split between a regular and wide size so perhaps this is wider than usual. But I'm not in bandages anymore. If one is still wearing bandages the width would be good. When I do the top strap the part that says "Vive" the edge hits the ground a little. I don't care because it works and I'm not wearing it as a fashion statement. Don't shop around. It is just not worth the trouble and agony. Get this one!!! It's better than the first one the surgeon put on. did read sizing directions carefully and it is just too big. Really disappointing because it looks like a good boot. So I am returning this one and ordering a size smaller. I did not actually try on the one I got because I think that may void return policy. But I matched it up to the boot I am currently wearing (It's worn out) and this one is much bigger. Of note they are supposed to protrude enough to protect the toe. You don't want it to end at your toes like a normal shoe. Still too big, but the quality looked good enough that I am trying again. My 4 stars is based one perceived quality based on visual inspection. Will update my review after I receive replacement.

Works to help people realize you have an injured foot, without immobalizing your ankle
So, after fracturing my sesamoid, my doctor put me in a big "boot". I used it for a while, but it is too bulky to drive in, if it is on your right foot, since you can't move your ankle. With this, you can easily drive. It doesn't offer the same protection, but it works for my injury. I still have to watch I don't put pressure on the ball of my foot, but at least I can drive, and best of all I am not trying to "squeeze" my foot into a normal shoe, you can just slip into this and velcro it closed. I wear size 10 mens and the Large works fine for me. It has a bit of extra room after my toes, but that is good since it prevents them from being hit. My wife jokes this is my "duck foot". But hey, you gotta forego fashion while healing from some injuries. The bottom if fairly flat and not the most comfortable with zero arch support, but if you have a foot injury you shouldn't be standing too much anyway. Overall this serves its purpose as a temporary recovery shoe you can drive with.

Perfect support after surgery
This shoe worked great after my foot surgery to allow light walking/driving. Fit perfectly and I loved that it was adjustable for my bandages. It's very light and supportive to keep my foot flat while I walk.

Not well suited for broken foot.
Not enough padding for broken bones in foot therefore, no pain relief. Size is spot-on. I wear 6.5-7 and it was perfect. Felt quality was good. Never wore more than 5 hours so not certain how it would hold up. Had to get an actual medical boot. I felt it was a bit over-priced by 5-10.00.

Runs small, size up
I'm an 8.5-9 on my shoe size and by their size chart they suggest I buy an extra small shoe. It was too small, My big toe stuck off the top/end of the shoe. I returned it and sized up to a small. It fits and offers support and easy to adjust.
