Review: DO NOT PUT THIS IN FOOD FOR FOXES OR ANY OTHER ANIMAL - TOXIC WHEN INGESTED! - I bought this because of another persons review about using it on foxes as I have a red fox who has started visiting for food and she has Sarcoptic Mange (mites). Since this persons review it seems the product has changed as it does not say anywhere that you can give it in food, in fact it says 'for topical use only, do not allow the animal to swallow this product'. I have researched and looked on various wildlife rescue sites about fox mange and it says you must NOT give this or the drops orally, you can only give in food if you have the Ivermectin Injection 1% (aka Ivomec), NOT Ivermectin/Ivomec drops. The Ivermectin/Ivomec 1% injection fluid is for cattle, chickens etc, but is successful when given to foxes with mange. I have also been using the homeopathic remedy arsenicum and sulphur 30c I got from National Fox Welfare Society for 3 weeks now, but it is not working as the mange is too far gone. I have looked to buy a bottle of Ivermectin/Ivomec (obviously it would be impossible to inject the fox with it, but you can inject it into the fox food instead). The Ivermectin/Ivomec 1% injection fluid I got online from hyperdrug as you cannot buy it on here - give 1 dose of .2 (not 2.0!) Ivomectin every 3 days for 3 weeks Then 1 dose of .2 Ivomectin every 5 days for 2 more weeks 10 doses total. It is not cheap at £30 but you get 200ml, so enough to treat 100’s of foxes and worth it rather than seeing the fox slowly being killed by Sarcoptic Mange! Do not leave the medicated food out because if another animal eats it (such as a pet dog, cat or birds), it could kill them. Inject it into a piece of meat or a sausage and watch that the fox eats it all, remove and discard if it does not and wash your hands!
Review: Just What Mr.Fox Needs - Now, I live in Norfolk and my house backs onto a mix of forest and open land, all of which is fantastic for local wildlife in my garden where I regularly get to see deer, pheasants and best of all foxes. Not urban foxes but country yokel ones including cubs each year who play around at the bottom of my garden. My wife is captivated and has of course named them all. Sadly, one old chap was seen with mange. And it became quite horrible to see with him eventually losing almost all of his fur on his back and tail. So, my wife decided to do something about it. She used for a long time a 'homeopathic' remedy which despite the cobblers that surround most non-prescription drugs actually seems to have worked quite well. Mr. Fox did indeed improve. However, there seemed to be a stubborn patch that would not go on at the top of his back around his neck so we decided that a bit more was needed and we debated trying the vet for some drugs but decided to try this first. And it seems to have just about done the trick. Mr. Fox has a decent fur coat again and hopefully in time for winter. We are of course monitoring him because he comes close to our house each night for what is now a regular feed. He will still bolt if he sees my wife and I but if we stay still, then we can watch him whilst he sits against the house wall absorbing some heat. Now, this is for topical application which is of course impossible with a wild animal, but we noticed that in the small print you can put small amounts in food and its okay. And we figured that getting rid of his mange was a risk worth taking because he would certainly not survive a winter in the terrible state he was in. So, it works on foxes - and my wife and I are happy indeed to do our bit.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can this be used on mice?**
A: I would use the 0.1% strength that comes in a 10ml bottle as that is used to treat small ornamental birds I am guessing a mouse is about the same size? For a 50g mouse you’d just use 1 drop of the 0.1% strength, for 100g 2 drops and so on.

**Q: Is this oral use?**
A: No it’s applied direct to the skin on the back of the neck

**Q: Can I carry on using this after three weeks is up on rabbits ?Its helping but not got rid of the mites yet**
A: You could give your vet a call and ask if it’s OK to continue using it.

**Q: Can fhis be used to treat mites in Snakes? (Diluted)**
A: Yes it can, the solution is 1ml Ivermectin to 1 litre of water. You use the solution to clean the enclosure and everything from within the enclosure. (Remove everything and just have a hide, water bowl, on paper until infestation is gone) spray your snake once a week (leave on snake for 1 to 2 hours then wipe off) continue this once a week for 5 weeks. If mites still persist then have 1 weeks break, and repeat process. Also remember a bath every 3 days will help with mites and make your snake feel more comfortable. Hope this helps.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works but make sure you're consistent!
*by M***N on 19 May 2022*

This is really great value for money and absolutely does the job. When I got another two guinea pigs to keep my single girl company they came with hay mites. I used it with the following regime as recommended by LA Guinea Pig Rescue and it worked a treat, the girls 4 months later are still spotless and comfortable. 'TREATMENT Day one, drop on the ear. Day 4 drop on the ear, and from there, once a week for three weeks.' Make sure you do this because you may kill the adults but if you only do it once or even twice there's a chance the left behind eggs will mature and the problem will persist. Good luck! But I will absolutely be buying this again, although I won't have to for a while since it's done the job and I have plenty of fluid left. It's a great product if you have a herd and need to treat multiple times on more than one pig.
