Edding 8280 securitas uv Marker - colourless - 1 Pen - Round Nib 1.5-3 mm

UV pen, no prep work required, dries almost instantly and all these months later, STILL going strong. Easy to use, relatively cheap to buy, and functions as you’d expect: Does NOT include a UV light, so I purchased a seperate small UV torch to do the job.

I sometimes sell stuff I've owned but don't need anymore on eBay. Pretty much everyone I've sold to has been fine but there are a few people who have not. I now mark anything I sell using this pen. It dries well and when I've used it has not been too obvious under natural light. It's best to mark objects in unobtrusive places for security and aesthetic reasons.

This UV pen is useful. The invisible ink works well, and UV light reveals the writing clearly in most conditions. It’s fun for secret messages and also handy for marking valuables discreetly. The only reason I’m giving four stars instead of five is that the ink isn’t as bright as I expected under UV light. It’s still visible, but a slightly stronger glow would make it even better. Overall, it’s a good product that does what it promises, and I’d recommend it for anyone looking for a fun and practical UV pen!

Easy to discretely mark plastics.

works well for everything i tried except cant write on back of moto g6 smartphone or tab 4 plus 10.1" tablet b/c of coating/finish on them. these are valuable items and important for me to mark. the ink forms illegible beads. dont know if scuffing surface of plastic using scuffing pads on said devices will help . will try. the ink forms beads that make the writing illegible. does anyone know of alternative uv marker that will work? ty.

This is a great product for security but make sure the surface is none porous or it eventually soaks in, I have marked a few things now and it works great, I had a small doubt as the pen was a bit squashed and contacted the supplier via amazon and they immediately contacted me with reassurances that it would be fine and as a goodwill gesture even gave me a discount, I highly recommend this especially if you have valuable items

Only used a couple of times but it works ok, not sure how long they last without being used though.

Un rotulador permanente de tinta invisible. Calidad inmejorable, típica de esta marca de rotuladores. Pinta sobre casi cualquier tipo de superficie, y permanece. Es necesaria una luz ultravioleta para ver la tinta, como la de las linternas LED de UV u otras. La tinta es muy ligeramente visible si se dispone de una buena iluminación, pero casi imperceptible. Se puede ver un poco mientras se pinta, hasta que se seca, pero todo esto es lo normal en este tipo de tintas. Es el mejor rotulador de tinta invisible que he probado.

Hallo zusammen! Als Kind war ich mal darüber erstaunt, dass es Farben gibt, welche nur unter einer Schwarzlichtröhre sichtbar sind oder besonders hell leuchten. Es war wie eine andere Welt, sobald das "Discolicht" an war. Im Gegensatz zu den damaligen Röhrer, gibt es heute jedoch LED-Taschenlampen, welche im UV-Spektrum abstrahlen und die ganze Sache praxistauglicher machen. Also, vor allem, das Schreiben von "geheimen" Nachrichten und unsichtbaren Textmarkierungen :-)! Aus der Laune heraus holte ich mir den Edding 8820 und wurde nicht enttäuscht. Auf Papier, dem Karton von Karteikarten und normalem Kopierpapier ist die eingetrocknete Tinte im Kunstlicht für mich unsichtbar. Ebenso auf der rauhen Tapete. Auch genaues Hinsehen lässt keinen Schriftzug erahnen. Im Tageslicht hingegen, ist es im entsprechenden Blickwinkel und viel Aufmerksamkeit möglich, die Buchstaben zu erkennen. Aber nicht auf den ersten Blick. Erst recht nicht, wenn im gedruckten Text nur einzelne Buchstaben leicht mit einem Punkt markiert werden. So lassen sich z.B. in alltäglichen Zeitungsartikeln Nachrichten verstecken - oder auch in Büchern Textpassagen hervorheben, welche nur unter UV-Licht zum Aufleuchten beginnen. Die Anwendungsbereiche sind vielseig; die Kennzeichnung von Eigentum oder Anbringungen von sicherheitsrelevanten Identitätsmerkmalen mag dazu gehören. Für mich ging es jedoch klar um den Spaßfaktor! Auf Plastik, Folien und glatten Oberflächen - also überall dort, wo die Tinte nicht einziehen kann - lässt sich die Lackschicht erkennen. Bei schrägem Lichteinfall besonders deutlich. Es fällt aber nicht unbedingt auf, wenn man eine eher verdeckte Stelle zum Auftragen wählt. Markiert man etwaig vorhandene Kratzer auf Kunststoffoberflächen, ist es bei dünnem Auftrag gut möglich, die Farbschicht zu verstecken. Ich bin von diesem Edding begeistert und hatte schon meine Freude damit. Als Leuchtmittel verwende ich diese Taschenlampe, welche eine UV-LED verbaut hat: Nitecore SRT9 - 2150 Lumen, rot, blau, grün und UV-Licht Viele Grüße :-)!

This works just as expected. The ink is sometimes very faintly visible in strong lighting (probably because there's some UV in sunlight) but usually you would never notice it. It glows well with any UV flashlight. The tip produces lines thicker than a ballpoint pen, but at about a millimeter, still fine enough for writing on small items.
