Great Buy
This shirt-jac is WELL worth the money. Very well made and will last for a very long time. I read many reviews that said it runs big. It's a shirt-JAC, it's designed to be worn over another layer. I purchased 2 of them, for my husband and son in their normal sizes and they fit perfectly.Very attractive on, nice colors, not stiff but heavy weight and they both loved the pocket placements. Excellent for our fall, early winter, and spring seasons here in Michigan. Highly recommend.

Fit me great after 1 wash and dry cycle.
I've read a lot of reviews and people saying that "carhartts run big"... well it's true but not a size up. I'm 5' 7" weigh 165-175lbs. I have a gut and I'm not as slim as I use to be back in high school where I weighed 145lbs. I ordered a medium and it was very stiff when I got it like most carhartt jackets. When I put it on it seemed a little too big but once I washed it and ran it through the dryer, it fit perfect. The length of the sleeves and length of the jacket is perfect. By perfect I mean, it fits like a jacket where I have room for layering clothes. I can wear a long sleeve t-shirt and a thick columbia fleece under this and feel comfortable and it's not too tight still. I can still move around freely unlike that kid in the movie The Christmas Story. After reading all the other reviews I started to worry that the medium jacket would be too big. A jacket is too big when the sleeves cover your hands when your arms are out and the length of the jacket go well below the crotch area... this wasn't the case for me. The length of the jacket fit great and I don't look like I'm swimming in it. All other jackets, t-shirts, and sweaters, I wear a medium so that's what I went with.I hope this review helps someone who share the same height and weight...

Nice color! I am 5ft 11in and 190lb
I picked up the MED black one of these. Nice color! I am 5ft 11in and 190lb. I wear a 16.5 / 34-35 shirt and a 44L sport coat. A medium Carhartt in any jacket fits me with room for a thicker sweatshirt-type under layer. Sleeves are good length as well. I like the shirt tail aspect of this as it adds a little length to the jacket that is sometimes lacking in Carhartt (for me anyway). Great for 30 deg weather or above depending on humidity, wind and activity. More jacket that shirt for sure. Warmer than a hoodie. Warmer than my light workout jacket.

Made in India, fits good, poor job of fitting the snaps
I like the shirt, it fits as it should, the flaps over the chest pockets are a must, and the side pockets are handy. However, it seems that installing snaps has gotten too complicated for the third world labor pool as the shirt has 13 snaps,2 of which work properly, 11 fail to seat fully and do not hold as they should. It looks as though the stake of the top side of the snap is either too large to crush low enough to allow the male component to fully seat or needs to be mashed flatter. I have used up 4 or 5 other Carhartt heavy shirts with snaps and they all had one or two flaky snaps ,but this one sets a new record. Guess they don't care as long as the labor is cheap, and ok with crapping in the street. I may have to do my own stitching. I don't know if there are any clothes still made in the US or not, but this is what we get now so that corporations don't have to pay tax that pays for sanitation or safe working conditions. I was going to give a better rating, but the more I thought about it,the more the poor attention to detail fit with depressed wages in this country and horrid working conditions in outsourced sites. It would only be right to state country of manufacture with every product description.

awesome !
awesome ! it's a little larger than I expected, but still my favorite new jacket. I think it's more of a jacket than a shirt since it has hand pockets on the outside. the lining is a bit of a quilt in that it's not glued tight to the canvas like my others, so with the air space, i think it will be warmer when it's cold. so far I haven't been hot in it on the not so cold days.
