Easy to install and very sturdy. Nice finish but a little slick to the hands. Adjustable to a wide range of angles.

Very sturdy and looks great! Easy to assemble on front porch steps. Thinking of purchasing one for the opposite side.

This review is for the Vivosun 6-7 step straight handrail. Pros- Sturdy, simple assembly, looks good, concrete drill bit and sleeve anchors were good, extra hardware. Cons- plastic end cap is cheap and falls off easily, item is mild steel and not wrought iron as stated, item has matte textured paint which flakes off easily and is not powder coated as stated. Installed both posts on concrete and was surprised how sturdy it was when completed. The rail will only be as sturdy as whay you mount it on so if you mount the base to a wobbly wooden step don't expect it to be very sturdy. Getting all 4 holes to line up can be tricky. The instructions show using a drill using the base as a template, which is laughable as the holes are 1/2" from the post vertically. I used a 1x4 scrap piece of wood and made a drilling template by tracing around the post base and it worked great. Using a threadlocker on the rail nuts and bolts is a good idea so the fasteners won't loosen with use. If the posts are on steps that see salt in the winter, you may try using WD-40 or even new/used motor oil to prevent the salt from rusting the bases. As for the endcaps I eneded up using a couple sheet metal screws about a half inch from each short side and drilled pilot holes into the metal and plastic and these are holding up so far. Epoxy may be another way to keep them in but I didn't try that method. As for the handrail material, it is not in any way wrought iron. It is thin mild steel but is plenty strong. And the paint is not powder coating either. Yeah, I would love to have a new powder coated wrought iron handrail but that would cost way more than what this handrail costs. In the end, I'd probably buy it again for the price.

UPDATE IN MAY - BOUGHT 2 MORE VIVOSUN 5' RAILINGS AND INSTALLED THEM IN LESS THAN AN HOUR (82-year old female with tools provided and my own electric drill). FIRST 3 REVIEWED BELOW WERE IN APRIL 2025. ALL LEGS SCREWED INTO WOOD DECKING, NOT CONCRETE. WITH 4 SCREWS IN WOOD IN EACH LEG, THEY ARE VERY STURDY. THERE IS A SLIGHT SIDEWAYS WOBBLE, BUT NOT ANYTHING TO BE CONCERNED ABOUT. RECOMMEND VIVOSUN RAILINGS. --- April 2025- Bought 3 of these Vivosun rails in different lengths to surround my husband's outside ramps. They are sturdy, and easy to assemble (although I forgot to put the caps over the "feet" before I screwed the first one down). They came via USPS (not UPS), so had to make a special trip into town to the post office to get them. There were some scratches on a couple of the rails, but nothing major that I can't touch up with black matte paint. I do have 2 things to mention and hope the person who monitors the Amazon description notes: (1) there is no mention of the size of the top hand rail (i.e., 1"x2") because I wanted to screw one end to the outside wall for more side strength, but couldn't order the wall attachment hardware until I knew what the size of the rails were; and (2) there is no mention of the "overhang" of the top rail when it is attached to the legs. This also would have helped in deciding where to screw in the legs to the deck because I am using 2 sections on one side of the ramp for stability. I bought a 4-step section, and a 2-step section, so there are a total of 4 legs screwed down to the wooden deck on one side of the ramp. The 3rd rails (a 3-step section) will go on the other side of the ramp (shorter because of a screen door opening). I didn't think one long section would be as sturdy as 2 shorter sections with more legs screwed down. Possibly, if I had concrete, it would be been better, but my application only has a wooden deck. All hardware included for wood or concrete, as well as Allen wrenches. No drill bits, though, for screwing the legs down.

They were simple enough to assemble but needs more thought into making the assembly easier. 1- As we were putting rails on hand rail the paint was scratching off. 2- didn’t care for appearance of the large spaces after assembled, making it look cheap, where you place the rails are just too large after assembly. 3- but it needs a template, better drill bit for concrete (it wore out after 2 holes drilled), 4-bottom plate on post with 4 holes is hard to line up when the post is applied to screws. 5-It also says drill 4”, no way that would work. We drilled just the length of the screws and still had a hard time getting the plate at bottom to fit on all 4 screws. Needs two open holes to adjust post. 6-the washers when trying to screw on bolts do not fit unless you have enough screw above plate. Before you can get the washer to start on screw it has to be well up out of concrete. Took more time trying to attach to concrete than the entire assembly. Forget trying to get it level.

Bought this for my grandparents because they have stairs right outside their door, fits perfect and is very sturdy. You do need some power tools to install though.

Very well designed, attractive, sturdy and fairly straight forward assembly. I installed on concrete steps. Some extra screw and bolt parts are included. Very considerate and helpful. I needed to use one of the spares due to a defect on another. The eight provided anchors for concrete are very solid when installed. Be extremely careful in your measurements when drilling the holes. There is very little room for error. Also, the provided drill bit was a nice thought, but it was not very high quality. It was taking me forever to drill through concrete so I bought a new drill bit at our local lumber yard and had the holes drilled in a few minutes. If you are planning to install on a wooden deck or porch, the enclosed screws are simply inappropriate for the job. Too short and too small to provide adequate strength to hold the railing with any certainty. Image attached. Still, overall a great value and I ordered another one.
