It was a huge hit!
I gave this as a gift to my nephew, who has always loved swords and is a fan of the bubbly. He was thrilled! He used it with great skill first time out on New Year's Eve! It's packaged beautifully, and is very well made. It looks much more expensive than it is!

Shiny! Works on Pop Bottles Too!
This is a very nice-looking saber, though the handle's a bit thin for my personal tastes. I tested it on some glass pop/soda bottles and it worked pretty well, though not every try was equally as clean of a break. In one of my tests I took an empty bottle, filled it with soapy water, capped it and shook it vigorously before trying it, and it worked! This means you can drink your beverage first and then have the fun of breaking off the end of the bottle- normally, you may lose a third or so of the bottle's contents, which seems wasteful. I like the design (bee? fly? something else entirely?) on the hilt- it adds a nice bit of character. And I also like the long, gently curving blade and the . The blade sustained a few dings from my test, but nothing huge. The saber appears to have a full tang, though I'm not sure what holds some of the hilt and pommel parts on. The wooden handle is extremely smooth and very attractive. I really like the storage box this comes with. it's decently sturdy, well-padded inside, and has metal hinges and clasps. Very classy. Overall this is an attractive saber and seems perfectly functional for its intended purpose. Thanks!

Beautifully made, excellent detail and absolutely perfect for sabrage.
I've seen countless people attempt to sabrage a bottle of Champagne, only to make a complete mess and well, look a bit hilarious. Happens to all of us! But much like metal fabrication, surgery, woodworking or building a house, the right tools make all the difference in the world. Some try using very light weight fencing swords which is not the best object to use as they're incredibly light weight and the blades are narrow. Large sabers are much better due to their mass and blade thickness, using the back of the blade, of course, but most folks don't have large swords in their house or business and then you've got the issue of the blade being too long and dangerously sharp. Herein lies the perfect form and function of the purpose made sabrage blade. The blade of this sword is quite thick, giving it an absolutely perfect weight for the forward thrust, with the momentum carrying straight through passing the energy onto the highly chilled neck of the bottle. Once the neck is chilled extremely well, place the blade along the bottle's seam with the wire cage moved slightly upwards past the first ridge and your bottle is open. The build up and release of carbon dioxide within the bottle, if opened correctly, disperses any microscopic glass shards, keeping the beverage safe to drink and fun for all. This saber is wonderfully comfortable to hold, balanced nicely for it's purpose and the presentation of the saber within it's very well made box is fantastic! Honestly, this thing is gorgeous and absolutely worth owning. Stock up on the lowest priced Champagne you can find and start practicing. Remember, if the break isn't clean, don't drink the contents. There are a number of helpful videos on YouTube to walk you through the process, Alton Brown's is particularly well done and he really goes into some great history and detail. Just remember to specifically CHILL THE NECK! I can't stress this enough. If the bottle is warm, do not sabrage. Also, do not use this method for wine, there is a different set of tools utilizing heated tongs and ice water for opening vintage bottles of wine, which involves a filtering process afterward. This is a purpose made saber and it performs it's duties with grace and style. That being said, I'm sure you're going to absolutely love this saber for many years to come perhaps passing on to your children, after they turn 21, of course.

It's cool, why wouldn't you buy it?

The box itself is sturdy and makes for an excellent storage solution when the saber is not in use. • Unboxing Experience: Opening the box reveals the saber securely nestled inside. The olive wood handle and stainless-steel blade are striking. The iconic Laguiole honeybee on the bolster adds a touch of authenticity and craftsmanship. • First Impressions: The saber is an impressive piece of craftsmanship, combining both form and function. Its length of about 13.7 inches is perfect for the act of sabrage, and it’s light enough at 8 ounces to be easily handled. 2. Product Features and Performance: • Build Quality: It’s well made with an eye to safety, it’s properly well dull so there’s no risk of cuts, it’s well assembled and the handle is secured to the full tang main blade. This should last as long as the owner. • Design and Aesthetics:. The Laguiole honeybee emblem is a subtle but iconic addition that enhances its nod to traditional craftsmanship. The olive wood compliments the stainless blade and creates a beautiful statement piece. • Ease of Use: While sabrage can be performed with various objects, using a saber like this one elevates the experience. The technique is more about finesse than force, and this saber is perfectly balanced to allow for a clean, dramatic opening. It will remain a favorite for special occasions and continues to impress guests. • Maintenance: The saber is easy to clean after use; a simple wipe-down with a damp cloth is usually sufficient. The olive wood handle benefits from occasional oiling to maintain its luster. 4. Value for Money: • Price vs. Quality: While you might not need a Champagne Saber, but you want one :) . The craftsmanship and presentation make it worth every penny, especially considering the wow factor it brings to celebrations. • Alternatives: While other cutlery or even a wine glass can technically be used for sabrage, none will provide the same level of style and impact as this dedicated saber. 5. Final Thoughts: • Overall Satisfaction: If you’re looking to make a statement at your next event or add a unique piece to your home bar, this Laguiole Style (a region in France known for iconic knives, usually decorated with a bee on the bolster) Champagne Saber is an excellent choice. It’s also a great gift for someone who who’s really into Champagne. Pros: • Elegant and well-crafted design • Lightweight and easy to handle • Makes a strong visual impact • Comes with a stylish presentation box Cons: • Limited use (but it’s so cool, you won’t mind!)
