Velda 126463 Compact Filter for Ponds up to 5000 L Including Pump, 13 Watts, UV-C, Floating Combi Filter 2500

Excellent product. We have a 4500 lite pond with no filtration, only a few aeration plants, and only a few water lilies (therefore much of the surface area is free from plants). We have 4 large goldfish and 9 very small goldfish, so quite a high biologic load. The pond was new in October, but had become green and murky over the months (October - June). Within one week, this filter had greatly improved water clarity, and the splash features (which is like a fountain!) is an added bonus as the oxygen level in the pond water has shot up to a much healthier level. The aesthetic of the filter is great, with only the dome visible above the water (however more is becoming visible as the water quality increases). Initially, weekly cleans were necessary, which is a simple process. Now, it is only necessary to clean every second week. Best to place a bag in the pond and place filter inside for removal for cleaning, otherwise waste will wash from the filter into the pond, undoing its work. As other users have found, the mesh is quite coarse. I added a thin layer of garden frost fleece under the mesh to aid fine sediment entrapment. The water flow remains the same, so i assume no additional stress is placed on the motor having done so. I would give 5 stars if this modification was not necessary.

Biggest issue is it comes with a Euro plug (2pins), I had to buy a euro plug converter before using it ? Which I could only get from Amazon ?? Seems to be working well as a filter, but the UV light does not work ?

My 6000 litre pond was VERY dirty after a period of neglect! Couldn't see white fish even when they were at the top! This little unit made a noticeable difference in a few days. Had to clean it fairly regularly, but boy, it did the job! After a week, I wrapped white filterwool around the unit and ran it. This really got the pond clearing. Needed a lot of cleaning, but my pond WAS dirty! Two weeks later and I can see the bottom of the pond, the fish seem livlier, maybe due to the induced oxygen this filter unit creates, and all I can say is this is a great little filtration product. It also has a nice little "fountain" effect due to its design. Very highly recommended indeed. So glad I invested in it.

This has been in my pond for about 4 weeks and it is nothing like clear . I’ve had one of these before . A smaller one but it was superior to this one. Confused !!!

filter sponge too coarse, would have been better with a finer grade sponge. majority of particles are not caught in sponge and are re-circulated. searched internet for replacement sponge without success. concept is good. quality is good. , but not effective enough for me.

Arrived promptly and well packed. Very mucky pond started to clear as soon as pond filter was installed. Hasn't completely cleared yet, can't see the bottom but the fish are clearly visible. The fish seem to enjoy swimming up to and around this filter they are happy with the splash the filter creates. Very pleased with this purchase.

I think this is probably the best filter I've ever had. Clear water always.

Arrived promptly and only setup required was adding charcoal (supplied) to the bottom area and electrical installation. The external fabric which surrounds the foam filters is a sort of mesh bag, fixed at the top my a bungee cord, which I imagine will be performance to remove and replace when wet. However, it is attracting the fine sediment that our fish kick up when in feeding frenzy mode. So far, I have found the most effective way to take it out for cleaning is to put a large bucket under it and to lift it out so the sediment can't float away. I have then just brushed the sides down into the bucket with a bit of a squeeze to get stuff out of the foam filters. Thank you to the reviewer who suggested an old pair of thick tights as a filter as I have been able to return the clear water to the pond after straining through the same! I like the relatively gentle effect of the water trickling over the top and so far, had none of the issues of crud in the fountain pipe restricting or redirecting water flow and squirting water in all directions that I have previously had with the more traditional 3-in-1 hoselock type models. Still early days as only been on operation for a short while.

Lo tengo en funcionamiento desde hace una semana. De momento todo perfecto, agua limpia y chorro abundante. Si se mantiene así con el tiempo, todo perfecto.

Der Filter ist seit ca. 2 Wochen im Betrieb und das Wasser klärt sich schon deutlich. Der Teich hat Goldfische und ca. 1500 Liter. Da das Teichufer schräg angelegt ist und die bisherigen Teichfilter immer weggerutscht sind, finde ich diese Lösung einfach super. Das Wasser sprudelt oben ca. 10 cm heraus (habe den Durchlauf ganz aufgedreht) - wie ein kleines Wasserspiel. Das Plätschern des Wassers ist für mich sehr angenehm. Die Reinigung schein etwas kompliziert, lt. Zeichnung, das kann ich noch nicht beurteilen. Ansonsten ist der Filter sehr zu empfehlen.

Lange war ich auf der Suche nach einer bezahlbaren Filterversion für meinen Gartenteich (ca. 1000l). Herkömmliche Druckfilter u.ä. waren mir ganz einfach zu viel Technik im Teich und auch zu teuer. Der Velda stach da positiv aus allen Teichfiltern heraus! Das Prinzip, das alle Filterkomponenten sich innerhalb des Teiches befanden, gefiel mir - somit keine Gefahr des Leerpumpens des Teiches. Der Filter vereint eine UV-Lampe, Filterung über Aktivkohle und einen großen Filterschwamm. Gewöhnungsbedürftig ist die Außenhülle des Filters - der Filtersack! Dieser hält den Schwamm und Aktivkohlefilter an der Pumpeneinheit mit Gummiseilen fest - eine etwas hakelige Sache, vorallem bei der Wartung. Diese lässt allerdings erstaunlich lange auf sich warten! Nach erst 14 Tagen in einem stark veralgtem Teich habe ich den Filter erstmals gereinigt - was aber auch da noch nicht zwingend notwendig gewesen wäre, der Wasseraustritt war noch gut 15cm hoch. Die Reinigungswirkung setzte nach 4 Tagen Dauerbetrieb sichtbar ein - ca. 10 cm tief klare Sicht. Jetzt nach 14 Tagen kann ich bereits ca. 50cm tief noch alle meine Fische beobachten. Ich bin also mit der Leistung des Filters zufrieden. Verbesserungswürdig wäre sicherlich die Sache mit dem Filtersack - ein Kunststoffbehälter mit entsprechender Befestungsmöglichkeit am Filterkopf wäre sicherlich einfacher zu warten. Die Wartung des Filters ist wie gesagt etwas pfriemlich. Trotzdem KAUFEMPFEHLUNG - alternativlos zur Konkurrenz. in dieser Bauweise!

Der Teich war in wenigen Tagen sauber. (1000 l.) Nach 2-3 Tagen waren die Fische zu sehen, Filter gesäubert. Kristall klares Wasser nach knapp einer Woche. Die Reinigung ist etwas fummelig, geht aber einfacher und schneller als mit dem Außenfilter davor. Die Anleitung ist etwas schlicht gehalten. Über die Haltbarkeit kann ich nichts sagen, hab ihn erst kurze Zeit.

Ich bin sehr zufrieden mit diesem Filter. Habe ihn seit 4 Wochen in meinem Teich und das Wasser ist wieder klar. Er macht optisch einen guten Eindruck und ist effizient, sowie leicht zu reinigen.
