Easy and ready to go
Amazing! So easy to set up and is basically ready to go out of the box. I'm not much for instructions so I just watched the video posted on Amazon for this trap and was literally setting the trap seconds later. So easy!!! The trap worked and we caught a ferrel kitten first night. Highly recommend this for anyone.

Traps squirrels and rats, effortless ... 30s setup
Overnight it caught something with just 30 sec trap setup. After clearing that, it caught squirrel in the daytime only 2 hours after. I used only shelled unsalted peanuts. I did also find some cones and small fruit. I scattered those around and put main bunch behind the trap trigger plate. Overall, this trap definitely works. The cage wall (mesh) spacing is narrow but narrower squares would have been nicer. I am glad the rat was not able to get out. Did notice that both squirrel and rat were able to stick out the nose. the trap door has good spring tension and was able to spring down and stay down. After 2 uses the trigger holding rod kept releasing the door so I had to bend/adjust so that it worked. This trap haa taken care of my immediate problem. It saved much time and effort. It is worth getting one of this size and one smaller if the squirrels in your yard are smaller. Good quality and design.

Great but wish it was a little bigger
I purchased this squirrel cage after noticing increased activity around my bird feeders and garden. After some research, I chose this model due to the solid reviews, reasonable price, and humane design — and I’m happy to say it has lived up to expectations in nearly every way. The cage is well-built with sturdy metal wiring and a reliable spring-loaded trap door. Setup was straightforward — I just placed some peanut butter on a cracker on the trigger plate, and within 24 hours, I had my first little visitor. The door snapped shut cleanly and securely, and the squirrel was safely contained without any signs of injury or panic. I’ve now used it multiple times, and it’s worked consistently every time. I appreciate the thoughtful design, especially the smooth edges and the handle with a protective plate, which makes transporting the cage easy and safe. The trigger mechanism is sensitive enough to trip even with lightweight squirrels, but not so touchy that it misfires when bumped or jostled by the wind. My only minor gripe — and the reason for 4 stars instead of 5 — is the size. It’s adequate for smaller squirrels, but I do wish it had just a bit more room inside. A slightly larger size would reduce stress for the animals and give them a little more space to move until I can release them. If you’re dealing with larger squirrels or plan to use this for other small critters like chipmunks or rats, you may want to look into a larger model. Overall, this is an excellent, humane trap that works exactly as advertised. It’s a great solution for anyone looking to relocate squirrels without harm. Just keep in mind the size limitations — otherwise, it’s a solid investment and one I’d recommend.

Works Perfectly and Built to Last!
The Anyhall Live Squirrel Trap Heavy Duty Humane Trap is exactly what I needed. It’s sturdy, well-built, and easy to set up — you can tell right away it’s made from quality materials. I was able to safely and humanely trap a squirrel without any issues, and the release was simple and secure. The mechanism is sensitive enough to trigger properly but not too touchy. If you’re dealing with small animals around your property, this trap is a reliable and humane solution. Highly recommend!

Squirrels be gone!!
This is the best investment for me. Trapped 5 ground squirrels in my backyard, thus saving what’s left of my dragon fruits, guavas and oranges. This trap worked like a charm, very simple to set up and effective with these medium size squirrels… durable trap material as well 👍👍..FYI, I released all of them, btw.

LATCH/HOOK System will Never Work for you if you get Cage 'Bad Batch/Lot' from the Factory
Why did you pick this product vs others?: Why a 1???? (Trust me I wanted it to be a 5)... When this product came, it just did not latch--AT ALL... I spent approx. $34 thinking it was going to be a least better than the ones for for $20. I understand that the latches need to be sensitive, but the latch did not even tuck under (if you know, you know what I am talking about). I was thinking did I get the batch that was returned by the other One-Stars? So before I decided to return, I tried about 2 hours trying to reverse-engineer the latch system (insert eye-roll). If I was not a tenacious person who has Labrador Retriever Focus, I would have given up. I tried pliers to bend the hook just ever so--that didn't work (and an easy fix that would be, right?). Then, miraculously it hooked. I walked away and heard the snap of the cage door shut and had to come back for another 30 minutes--thinking it must be me not 'getting' how it works--listen, the technology is 'Cave Man' so it's not technical--it should be easy with a hinge operating system. Then I pulled the side bar over and seemed to get the latch to shut--and I tip toed away. Ok--I come back that evening and catch my first squirrel!! So, now I feel like a Big Shot--expert Squirrel Hunter, put me on the Next Season of 'Alone'. I go back to re-latch and it would not work again--just won't latch. I tried 50 times? Then figured I could put a thin twig against the side bar to hold the latch/hook system in place--it took another hour to get it right. And it worked. I have caught 3 squirrels so far this way...But I seriously DO NOT RECOMMEND this for the amateur squirrel catcher. The cage itself is sturdy--AMEN for some perk!--Squirrel can't escape at all. But good luck getting a squirrel into the cage with the disastrous hook latch system. If this company wants to send me a new one to try--I am open to seeing if the one I have is the Lemon/Fluke/One-Off. Mic Drop
