It was just what I needed for my pool house that gets really hot in the summer.

Very compact, well made unit. I will definitely buy it again.

I'm giving this 3 stars because I have hooked this up for my Playstation5 and Laptop computer. Neither have a stable connection. The Playstation loses connection to the Internet, forcing me to go Wireless again, the computer, has no connection and I'm forced to go Wireless on that too. I've unplugged and plugged the unit in again and all connections stay. But at some point, all connections to the Internet stop. Now, I'm connecting to an extender. So, if this is NOT the way to connect this module because it doesn't work if you do, well, then this device is unusable for those that need a switch for an extender. But, it did work for a short time. At this point, I'll be removing the device from my desk and continue with connecting my Playstation directly to the extender and my computer to WiFi.

Even the best laid plans often fall short of what we later learn is needed to adequately cover the situation. That is especially true for today’s digital communications systems. And it has happened to me in my new home that was planned 5 years ago and built 3 years ago … what I thought was enough for “future expansion” has already been maxed out. So now I find myself needing to install a new Ethernet switch in my unconditioned attic area to multiply the digital end points that then utilize existing Cat6A cables that run to my central DstaComm Closet. And I was worried about the summer heat, winter cold, humidity, and dust affecting the equipment I need to place there. Enter this switch designed to operate in a harsh industrial environment … and my problems are solved. It’s purpose is to consistently perform in even worse conditions than I expect to encounter in my attic. Now I can reconnect those little used ports from which I “borrowed” their cable runs to the central switch and add a couple more I have been wanting to install for additional security cameras.

You can tell immediately that this was designed to industrial grade standards. The switch housing is constructed of solid steel, it has excellent shielding and disperses the heat output evenly without the need of an internal fan. EMF readings are in the acceptable range at 1.5 inches from the body of the switch. It does require a wiring harness and some basic electrical wiring to supply power to the switch. Neither of which are supplied with the device and will need to be purchased separately. Normally I would deduct a star for this, but due to the exceptional high quality and industrial construction. I feel it is warranted. Hopefully, this review will inform other buyers to expect this if they are not already aware from the product listing. I would imagine that most of the potential buyers of this switch are professional installers and skilled in basic wiring. I would recommend this switch.

I purchased this Ethernet switch to split the internet signal coming in through the wall to my Smart TV and have a second path to my Dell laptop. I wanted to have the option of splitting the wired setting to my laptop so that I could maximize the data transfer to my laptop (hard wired vs. wirelessly). I like to stream MLB games from my laptop to my Smart TV and I wasn't happy with the throughput when using my laptop wirelessly). This was affordable and fit my needs perfectly. It is small and super easy to set up. Simply plug it into an available outlet for power, bring the ethernet into one port and then split the output with two additional ethernet cables to your other sources. Couldn't be simpler and it works great.

The keepLiNK 5-Port Industrial Ethernet Switch was designed to function in industrial environments that are hostile to most electronics. I would prefer a higher speed rating but if the device works for surveillance cameras during the hot summer months here in Texas, I'll be both surprised and elated. The device itself is built like a Sherman tank and I'm very satisfied with this acquistion and the flexibility it affords. Highly recommended for unmanaged switch needs.

NO trae fuente de alimentación, es necesaria una fuente de alimentación externa. Puede funcionar con solo una fuente desde 12V a 58v. Conectar y listo. Poco consumo, no se calienta. Funcionando sin problemas desde hace meses. Comentario, sólo como aviso: Este tipo de equipos "industriales" (como se puede observar en las fotos), no se pueden ubicar en "cajas" con carril DIN típicas de mecanismos eléctricos. Como se aprecia, las dimensiones, en altura, profundidad y hacia el frente con las conexiones, impiden el uso de las típicas cajas con tapas. Este tipo de equipos se montan en armarios especiales o se dejan sin tapar.
