Eighth studio album from the thrash/metal band fronted by Max Cavalera. ENSLAVED sees Soulfly going in a much heavier direction, pushing their sound into overdrive.

Max Arise's
Ill keep this short and sweet, as i see no point explaining each individual song!!From the the intro 'Resistance' to the manic 'Redemption of man by God' featuring good old Dez Fafara :) this album blasts angry on a high level, even by Max Cavalera's standard.Bits of songs feel Sepultur-ish, but in a good way. The main plus of this album is that (i feel) its keeps things interesting. Riffs are catchy, production is good in general, unlike the slightly dissapointing Omen  which was in my opinion quite a boring album! But enough moaning about their previous album, this review is about 'Enslaved' which i give a good 8/10. it was never gonna match his earlier masterpieces like Beneath The Remains (Reissue) , Roots  or Soulfly , but its much better than most of the modern 'turd' rock thats going around nowadays!!!P.S. if your serious about soulfly, or (like me) Max Cavalera in general, then make the effort and listen to his earlier music. check these out-#SEPULTURA (1989-1996)beneath the remains, arise, chaos A.D., roots, blood-rooted, under a pale gray sky, chaos DVD.(i know they did 2 earlier albums before they signed to Roadrunner, but they were somewhat poor in quality and all over the place. 'Beneath the remains' is where Max's journey trully begins)#NAILBOMB (1994-1995)point blank, proud to commit commercial suicide.#CAVALERA CONSPIRACY (2008-????)inflikted, blunt force trauma.#SOULFLY (1998-????)soulfly, primitive, 3, prophecy, dark ages, conquer, omen, enslaved.I hope you find this list useful. Thanks for reading ;D

Soulfly new album is cool
Soulflys new album is pretty cool I am still waiting for the old tribal feeling to come back however until then I rather quite like the Thrash metal style it seems to be taking, I admitedly can't remember the songs of the top of my head very well but I only listened once,so if you are expecting something similar to Omen then you won't be dissappointed, the one thing that annoys me is the booklet has no where to sit in the case some idiot designer forgot to add a little slit for it or something so be aware of that if you buy the album.

Great album, poor packaging.
I'm reviewing the special edition version as I'm from the US and ordered from the UK to get the bonus tracks. The album gets 4.5 stars as it's definitely one of the best Soulfly has put out to date. The packaging on the other hand, gets one star because there's no place to put your booklet like 99% of albums give you. There's no slit in the bottom of the digipak for it to sit in or opening in the front of the package for it to slide into. So you could easily lose your booklet as it will just fall out when you open the digipak up. Roadrunner was pretty dumb on this one.
