Great for 8mm and Super 8 on a Sony A6500
I bought this specifically to take photographs of 8mm and Super 8 film. At the 4x setting, it is just barely larger than the Super 8 frame and at 4.5x it is slightly cropped. This is the perfect lens for that application. I'm using a Sony A6500 with the APS-C size sensor; this may not be true of a full-size sensor camera.

Defective unit out of Box
I'll revise my review when I get a working lens. The aperture ring refused to move, it's clearly stuck. After inspecting the lens, I noticed screwdriver marks on the inside. I'm pretty sure I was sold a refurbished one that wasn't quality checked after.... Disappointed...

Great lens for the money!
You need a tripod, macro tripod head and focus stacking to get the most of it, see photos of pollen.

Waste of money !!!!
Do not buy this lens!!!!!!!!! Eventhough it is cheap it will just fall apart and there are loose screws and what sound like ball-barings inside. I didn’t even get to use it. It is a terrible waste of money.
