It’s firm enough so that it hasn’t lost its shape and I have had it for a few months to test it out. I like that it is not shaped like a traditional head pillow but instead it’s a true cylinder; this is fairly unique in body pillows. I chose the blue cooling cover and it is cool to the touch and worth the extra money if you struggle with getting hot at night. Finally, there are always mad people who write reviews whining about how items smell. I get migraines from perfumes and smoke so those kind of reviews worry me but I have found I once an item gets fresh air, it’s FINE. This body pillow comes with a list of instructions on how to fluff it before its first use; I followed the instructions and I didn’t notice any bad smell.
