Great grill- would buy again!!!
Easy to put together, took about an hour. It's a hefty grill. Love the portability! I would definitely buy this grill again. Well designed and made! Quality product.

Not so portable but a great grill!!
Great little grill it is on the heavy side but worth it.only thing is the little pastic thing on the vent melted off on day one. Only thing I wish they did was make the legs either slide up so make it a little more compact when stored and some locks on the tray and hood for travel. No joke this little grill is sturdy large enough to cook for a small group easily (fits 3 large steaks easily or 8 large burgers on its)

This thing's a beast!
UPDATE: So, after a couple of cancellations due to California's wildfires, I finally was able to go on a five night camping trip and put The Royal Gourmet grill through its paces for dinners. In a word, awesome. I did inch thick USDA Prime NY Strips and pork tenderloin (which, obviously require different heat levels and cooking methods). With the pork, I did a dry rub of kosher sea salt, onion & garlic powders, black pepper and Adobo, served sliced with salsa verde drizzled over the slices. That was cooked low and slow, the ability to set the level of the coals (with mesquite) and close the grill cover while maintaining a consistent temperature was key. They came out perfectly cooked, moist and very very flavorful. The steaks were, obviously, a different method, coals brought up to their highest position, sea salt, onion & garlic powders, black pepper rubbed in for a seared crust to keep the juices in. Grilling hot and fast, with finger testing the doneness on the grill, they came out perfectly seared juicy and most of all, rare. I did steaks twice on this trip and they were absolutely consistent. This grill is everything I hoped it would be!Original ReviewIt took a while to assemble but the directions were comprehensive and once together, this thing is bullet proof — and that means it's heavy but I'm a car camper and I value comfort and great food over lightness...I haven't used it yet because it's been stormy here since I received the grill but I'm looking forward to a dry day so that I can finish the recommended assembly (they want you to lightly rub vegetable oil throughout the interior of the grill and then cook for two hours with briquettes to season the interior).I bought this to replace a cheap, unstable suitcase style grill that I took on camping trips for years and this one, with the obvious improvements of adjustable coal height, the ash removal tray and the door for adding charcoal is vastly superior. The thermometer in the lid is nice but I probably won't be cooking anything that requires it while camping. I like the fact that it's large enough to fit a small Weber chimney inside it for packing and storage (see photo) because I hate the taste of lighter fluid on the mesquite chunk charcoal that I prefer to cook with. This is going to make camping even better than it already is!

Nice product
Pros:- Nice size- Great look- Warming rack- Great price- You don’t need many tools to install- There’s a video on YouTube showing you how to install the product (this saved me!!)Cons:- You have to install the whole unit. There’s not too many small parts, but installation took me about 2-3 hours.- The parts aren’t labeled. The screws are labeled, but not the actual parts.Overall, a decent product.

Assembly and First Cook
Assembly is extensive 25ish pieces each involving an average of about three screws. Figure an hourDesign is very clever. The only ding there is the use of cotter pins to secure the lid. The “axle” is in a tight interior space and securing the cotter pins is not easy. I spent about five minutes on the second one. Otherwise this is a terrific assembly designMy grade is 97/100Another part of the equation is precise machining. Even a great design is frustrating if holes don’t line up. There was only one issue and it was minor. I’m going 97/100 againThe last piece of the puzzle is instructions. These were good not great. Only the legs are identified with stickers and it’s a shame that all of the major parts weren’t treated similarly. It would have made life easier because not every part was obvious from the included line drawings in the assembly instructions. Overall 93/100For context, I hate these projects. However this grill was perfect for me so I bought despite knowing the assembly would be more time consuming than I preferThe final product feels very sturdy despite my limited assembly skills. If you have the patience this is a good grill to this point. The features and build quality indicated that it should cook very well and it did on the maiden voyage. Very hot lump charcoal put a great sear on a ribeye and the warming rack allowed a 15 minute roast to perfect medium rareAsh management and heat control are both very good

Nice grill but it was the hardest thing I ever put together. No instructions just pictures!

Lightweight, easy to use, easy to clean, great BBQ!
Works great! I’ve always preferred charcoal grilling and this one is perfect for smaller groups. I cooked four half-pound burgers and five hotdogs at once. It’s easy to handle and easy to clean.

Junk !
If I was able to put all the parts back in the box I would ship it back in a heartbeat . Jesus Christ.. People don't purchase this item. I don't think anyone would want this even if I gave as a gift . 😡
