Sea to Summit Dry Bag Sling Carrying Strap Dry Bags

We purchased this for our son to go on a week long canoeing trip with the scouts this summer. He's already used it on a weekend long canoe trip and it fit all his things nicely and kept everything dry. We also purchased the strap to go with it so it was easier to carry. The fabric has a good weight to it and it seems like it will be durable for longer trips. A quality item!

The title speaks for itself. Having a bag without a strap is like having a bucket without a handle. Yes the bag does technically have a handle when it is clipped shut but given that this bag is made for recreational activities a strap is a no-brainer. For me personally, I like to go kayaking with my large dog. It is not feasible to manage a kayak, paddle, dog in lifejacket, self in lifejacket and making sure my bag doesn't fall in the water before we are situated.

Great strap. Makes carrying it so much easier. Strong and comfortable.

I purchased this sling strap along with one of their dry bags which said it is compatible. I was skeptical since the other reviewer mentioned that the one they purchased was not, but I received both today, and it attaches really easily and works great. Just make sure that the compatibility is listed. I purchased two different dry bags from them, and one was compatible which had it listed as compatible, and the other one didn't list it and isn't. The one that isn't compatible, I figured it wasn't since it isn't listed but didn't care since I didn't purchase that one to use with the sling, rather something else. Love the idea and will definitely get a lot of use out of it.

I bought this thinking it would be a no brainer but boy was I wrong. I didn't have the compatibility issue like some people did but this sling digs into my shoulder. The clip does not have a cover material to prevent it from digging into your back. The sling has just a little lip of material but not enough to cover the clip. I can see this being an agony to move around with for even a short hike. I packed a 9lbs bag and my shoulder is already hurting from a few minutes of carrying this around. This is not worth the price I paid and I don't think the engineers thought it through very well. When I think of seatosummit I think quality and one aspect of quality is the end user experience or voice of the customer. I don't think they even gave some away to people to collect some user data with. Buy at your own risk, an alternative to this would be any other sling with carbinders and good padding. They made it easy enough to just tie the bottom end to one of the lash points that are way stronger than the 15 or so tiny one at the bottom of the bag.

I use this for carrying dry bags with light gear to and from a kayak. The strap works perfectly with compatible Sea-to-Summit dry bags and makes loading and offloading a breeze by freeing up your hands for whatever else you're doing.
