More black than brown & very easy to use.
I've done some patination with other chemicals and they all required heat and a spray bottle. This stuff works cold and does a nice job, but it is more on the black side than brown, but that's what I wanted for this project. Also used it on some zinc plated wood screws and it worked great. Easy to use.

You must IMMERSE the item to darken
I'm giving this 3 stars because it's not nearly as quick and effective as Birchwood Casey Brass Black which can be easily applied with a Qtip. This stuff requires immersion in the liquid for it to work, which is probably fine for many things, but for my small jewelry projects a Qtip application is preferred. Birchwood Casey Brass Black is the same price but you only get 3 oz vs 16 oz of Jax. Bottom line: you have to immerse the object in Jax, and I don't know yet how long the solution lasts before (or if) it loses its blackening power in the container I'm using. Had I known this before buying I would not have purchased it, and there's a NO RETURN on this so it was a $30 mistake on my part, but I'll make it work. It's probably fine for other people. It works, just not what I was expecting.

Worked OK.
Although it did darken it some, I needed to use something else to make it look even richer. The smell was strong.

Worked perfectly for touching up oil rubbed bronze door handles
This stuff is fantastic. Take your time and make several applications to fine tune the amount of dark bronzing you are trying to achieve.

Not worth the money.
This product did not work at all as it says it would do to in not only the product details and reviews. Total waste of my money. I do not recommend this product. It did arrive quickly when ordered.

Brass made old again.
Works great on brass..immerse for a minute and the brass turns brown/purple the rinse and wipe with cloth or scotchbrite to give brass a aged look.
