Nice quality
I think these line chafe guards are under rated, they are better then more expensive ones out there. I also like how they are 24" long compared to others 18" length. So far so good, I'm pleased.

Northgear Chafe Guards
Anyone with a boat that docks in stormy areas knows chafing dock lines can be an issue. I've used rubber tubing and pieces of fire hose in the past, but wanted to give these a try. The chafe guards are made from a velcro-like loop covering on the outside and a non-woven polyethylene like fabric on the inside. Also on the inside are two strips of velcro-like hook fastener strips. The velcro allows for easy installation without untying the dock line, you simply wrap around the line and secure with the velcro strip. The second hook strip seems to prevent the guard from sliding along the line. They seem capable of supporting a variety of line sizes for smaller and larger boats. The loop covering is fairly soft, so it shouldn't scratch or mar the hull, however, I can see it might collect dirt and debris so they will need to be cleaned periodically or they may end up scratching the hull. They seem capable of performing their function of preventing chafe, but probably won't last as long as something more sturdy such as fire hose segments...so if this is used for hurricane prep, it might wear through in a rough storm...but that is the purpose chafe protection...to save the dock line.Overall, they seem like an easy to use option that should help prevent wear of dock lines. I will update this review if I note any issues after more use, but so far, can recommend them as a reasonable protection for your dock lines.

Works great for many use cases
I actually don't own a boat or have a need for a dock line chafe guard. I got this with the intention of wrapping it around my fishing poles when I'm pier fishing to keep my line from rubbing on the concrete handrails. This has done a pretty good job and it is a nice quality product. I wish the product was a little bit less coarse on the interior fabric but I suppose that is to keep it from slipping off the line. The exterior of this product has a very similar texture to the fluffy side of a velcro stripAll-in-all this is a great product and it will definitely save you money in the long run from chafing. It feels like it is made from quality materials and will stand the test of time. I highly recommend it to anyone with a need for a chafe guard.

Line Saver
Great addition to keep lines from rubbing and chaffing as well as keeping the boat/ swim platform protected. I like the overall length as it adds in the amount of area protected. The use of these extends the life of your lines as well as the condition of your fiberglass for any rub areas. They may slip on thinner lines but you could add some internal bulk if that's an issue.

Must have for lines that chafe
As far as chafe guards go, these are pretty good. They are long enough for most applications, and easily store as they are flexible material. The material is soft on the outside so there is less damage from rubbing on other surfaces. They do stay closed well as there is a velcro strip that runs the length of the pad. The stitching is good and durable. The only con I can see is they can slide once on a line, and I solved that by putting a cut bike tire tube inside.
