Real time updates. Perfect for automation tasks.
I wanted a temperature sensor to switch on and off my oil boilers smart switch. This device has a real time refresh rate, it updates temperature and humidity readings to smart life app immediately so perfect for my automation task in smart life app. It also works with Google home, shows temperature on the thumbnail and humidity after you click in. I haven't tried automation in Google home but there is no need as all my smart devices are smart life and tuya compatible so I set up my automation tasks in those apps. It's looks good, usb powered, no battery needed. Just three points I'd improve it by, 1. The usb cable provided is standard, as in sticks out too far to wall mount so I ordered a right angled cable to replace that. 2. The vents are on the rear so I just used a few layers of velcro tape to raise it out away from the wall so the vents are clear. 3. The led screen is very bright, you can set the led to go off at your chosen times but I'd have preferred a dimmer setting to make it less bright but still visible at night as it is in the bedroom. 9.99 out of 10 though. Happy days.

Easy installation - plug and play
Works as advertised and easy to install and allows me to know the temperature in my Annexe without having to go back/forth to check on the heating (Separate wall heaters). I was able to program the individual radiators using smart plugs and the smart life app to maintain a temperature between an upper and lower limit range so all radiators now work together vs independently. Not as intuitive to program as a regular thermostat, however the historical graphs provide much more information (e.g. lets me know how cold it got last night when the heating was switched off). It would have been good if there was a software feature to set it to a specific temperatures at different times of the day, but then I'm sure it would have been more expensive! It's probably possible to do that with programming different events but that was a level of complexity I didn't need. It does what I need it too so am very happy with my purchase.

Good but not perfect device
Thermometer was easy to add to the Smart Life app. The instructions were clear and it took a minute. The screen is clear and has nice big numbers so can be seen from far away.In the SmartLife app I can view a graph of the current day / previous days so see when it was too cold in the room. The negatives are minor. One is that it's powered by USB cable and no battery. It says this in the specs in the Amazon ad so it's my fault I missed it. It means I have to place it near to a power source. The second is googles fault. For this and another thermometer I got they integrate with Google assistant. Great. So I can say what is the temperature in the Hall and Google will answer. However I can't use this info to trigger a routine in Google Assistant. So I can't get my speaker to announce that it's too cold or to turn on a Nest. The notifications work fine in the smart life app though so if it goes below a certain temperature I can get a notification on my phone or I can get it to turn one of my lights on but that's about it.

More like a prototype device
I didn't have mega high hopes for such a seemingly cheap item, but there are aspects of this device that are just poor.Firstly the good stuff:It's well built, the screen isn't too bad and the connection to WiFi appears strong. The way you can use the temperature and humidity to control other devices within the app is great. You can also get alerts if the temperature falls too much, for example. Now the not so good:By going on the app you cannot get an instant temperature reading. The most frequent you can select is every 5 minutes, but if you do this the batteries won't even last a week.Moving onto the subject of batteries, the remaining battery percentage is so innacurate. It alarmed at me and said 0% battery and yet continued to work for another 3 days! Running such a hungry device on three AAA cells is a mistake and surely an option for continued USB power wouldn't have been hard to fit in. The fact that the app comes preprogrammed to read the temperature and humidity every 2 hours says it all to me - they knew the battery life sucked but released the product anyway. I now have it reading every 15 minutes to preserve some juice. The accuracy seems okay but I haven't anything to fully disprove it and it's not a major issue for my usage. The integration into Google Home isn't all that's it's cracked up to be. I can add it as a device on there but without any useful features, only ask it what is the temperature or humidity. All of the clever stuff happens within the app, which is okay, no biggy.Overall would I buy it again? Not right now; I'd wait for a MK2 with USB power option.

Easy to set up and seems to work
I don’t normally buy things with only 3-4 reviews but this seemed to be what I wanted at a price I was willing to pay, and I’ve now bought two.In terms of set up, the instructions do seem to be slightly off as they refer to a flashing flight on the unit which I could not find. But, once I had downloaded the app and set it searching for new devices (which was easy, and covered in the instructions) all I had to do was press and hold the buttons on top of the unit until the WiFi indicator on the unit start cycling between low and high. After a few seconds of doing this it connected fine and is now stable. I have one in my garage office and one in my garage gym. Both seem to be working and I can see the temps from app when I’m in the house, no problem.I have no other thermometers against which to compare but the readings feel accurate based on the weather outside (no heating in the garage). The humidity also seems to be about right, but I’ve no idea if it is scientifically right. All in all, though, I’m very happy with this item and I’d recommend it. It does what I wanted, and the price is reasonable.
