Sinaliy Travel Backpack, 17 inch Laptop Backpack Carry on Flight Approved

Backstory: After packing my standard laptop backpack for a trip and then having to pull some items out or add them, I got really frustrated with the mess I would make out of my carefully packed bag, or by not even being able to find certain things unless I dumped the entire bag out. I needed a backpack that opened more like a suitcase so I could easily find or shuffle items. I didn't even know that existed! I found it and more in this bag. 40L makes for a lot of room! I love everything about this bag - except for the non-zippered pockets in the main compartment because anything I put in them slides out and I find it in amongst my things in the main compartment (I'm thinking I might be able to modify the pockets with a few stitches to keep things in them better.) I have taken this bag camping, on overnight and weekend trips, and now am planning on testing my packing skills and taking only it on a 6-day trip in early fall though I'll have bulkier clothing to pack. I will also be flying with it for the first time in October, and I will update this review with my experience since I will be on a budget airline and I am planning on using this bag as a personal item and as my only luggage. I love that the straps fold away for carrying ease and that keeps the straps from catching on things (like airplane seat arms while walking to my seat...true story). I love all the zippered pockets and all the well-thought out details in this bag. It's sleek, it's pretty and still functional! It's even expandable! It's very well-made and durable. It's also a nice touch that it comes with the bonus two clear zippered pouches. My laptop fits perfectly in the laptop space and doesn't infringe on the usable space in the main compartment - unlike in my laptop backpack. I bought the black version of this bag for my husband and he is very particular about his backpacks. He loves it and has taken it on every trip! Next year we'll be flying for a 2-week trip, and I am planning to take only this bag with me as my luggage and pack a portable backpack inside for day trips. I highly recommend buying this bag! One tip: In the main compartment, put something at the bottom and the top to give the bag a little more structure while packing because otherwise you're fighting a little with the sides and top and bottom caving in as you pack. Remove when finished packing. (2 PCs of cardboard work well) It's become a pet peeve of mine because I utilize every inch of space I can. Pack this bag fully expanded then use the compression zipper and the side cinch buckles to make it more compact. Did I mention I love this bag?

This is my go-to backpack for literally everything. I originally bought it to backpack around Europe for a week, and now, I use it pretty much every week. It fits way more than you'd expect and works great as a carry-on on planes. Fits under the seat in front of you too. It is very comfortable and the straps are easy to adjust. There are many pockets and storage for miscellaneous items. If you travel a lot, I would highly recommend.

Had this bag for about two years, used it maybe 3-5 times a year for airplane travel. Fantastic bag, lots of room, good compression with the side zippers, tons of great compartments. Unfortunately, it tears and stains easily, and I've found nothing that removes the stains. Good bag for the price if you're not wanting something that will last forever.

Not going to lie...leveled up my travel game with this amazing backpack! Fits everything, literally. First time I've used the interior zippered pockets for their use, wet products and undergarments. Zipped everything without a worry of leaking. Add a couple of compression bags and you can easily pack a weeks worth of clothes along with your laptop and entertainment devices. Strap for the attaching to a wheely bag and you are set for even longer. Zips are durable, backpack itself is light and comfortable on your back and arms. Husband gladly carries on the plane and on short trips. Great value for the price.

The style of this bag is amazing, it’s waterproof and padded to perfection. I appreciate the so many storage possibilities and pockets including a hidden pocket against your back. The value is great. This bag is able to be work and harnessed as a backpack, with strap storage. It sturdily slips over your suitcase handle. It has many different zippers. It’s a perfect backpack to toss into your suitcase if bringing back souvenirs or buy extra clothes there. It has space and padding for all electronics. TIPS: The hooks on the straps can easily slip off the D rings. Clips the hooks with a wire cutter and bend the D rings removing them. I replaced the D ring with a horseshoe ring with a screw-in pin, the hooks I replaced with screw locking carabiners. (Local hardware store) Personally I’m really hard on my bags and in an emergency situation they come in handy. It’s a great purchase!

I bought this backpack for a 2 week+ trip to Greece. Since at least 2 legs of flights were 10hrs ea, I wanted a bag that fit under the seat and was easily accessible for anything needed during the flight with the least amount of disturbance to my seat partners. Once in my seat, I unzipped all the pockets ahead of time and included a small flashlight. The design allowed me to slide it out, get what I needed and slide it back with min effort. I used makeup bags for loose things like snacks, quick makeup fixes and meds. It came well packaged and new - no signs of previous use or wear/tear. This backpack went thru 6 flights, on/off a transport van for 6 days and a ferry ride. It has held up very well with no real signs of ripping, tearing or coming apart. I did not use the 2 clear bags with the backpack, but did use them to pack other things in my checked bag. The pics show everything I carried in the backpack with no issues with the zippers or straps and were taken post-trip. The outside held up well and I used a Tide pen to spot clean a few places including a spot of blood on one of the big straps. The only pocket I did not use was the large wet pocket, but it would have been handy for last minute wet swimsuit or towel. I also did not use the port for the USB cable bc there was no pocket or strap on the inside to hold a power pack. The only issue I had was attempting to get the passport or wallet out of the hidden pocket on the back while the backpack was attached to the pull up handle on my carry-on with the strap across the back. Partially my fault for having the pack so stuffed making it a tight fit but if the strap was just an inch or 2 higher it would have been a little easier. Overall, very satisfied with this backpack for the use I intended. I think it would also make a great weekend backpack especially if used with packing cubes. I do not think it would hold up as well for actual hiking/backpacking and I would use one that was more intended for that purpose in that case.

The amount of many separate pockets make it very handy, especially when travelling. And, even though it is pretty large and roomy, the bag has gone through as hand luggage without any problems so far (even when I packed everything I need for a whole week in it).
