You want to place it in the sun for an hour if possible before use. If at room temperature it should stick to many surfaces. If not, heat briefly with a gas gun as you lay it on. Also you can use a wallpaper edging roller once it’s in place to help make it bond.

Will it work to stop lead flash slipping on a slate roof.

Yes, you can use it to replace damaged lead flashing too, adheres to slate, stone, brick, wood etc,,.

Can this be painted over ?

I’ve only used sealant paint on it no problem, it sticks to it and doesn’t peel off. I think gloss paint would be fine.

Yes, needs to be heated slightly, a hairdryer works and is then very easily worked into place.
