Useful Purchase
I like this bottle very much. I take it camping, to the park, and to other peoples houses so I don't drink all their bottled water. I drink A LOT of water. The water in the bottle tastes clean and I have had no issues. I will say that it does kind of taste funny for the first few days. It reminds me of the way a Camelback tastes at first but that goes away.

Great item for trips!
It was really helpful in my euro trip. Great design. I could drink fresh water everywhere. You can carry in your backpack or hands. The plastic quality feels really nice and the filter was amazing.

Great for emergency use or camping!!!
I have been using this bottle for about a month now, and it has been saving me from buying so many cases of water. My wife and I love to visit the national parks and this bottle will come in handy on our travels. It’s great, because you don’t need to change the filter too much. It says you can get about 4000 refills per filter. There is also a smaller charcoal filter that they recommend changing more often. I would definitely recommend!!!!

Good water bottle, yet there's some flaws
I appreciate this water bottle as it helps me drink a lot more water during my shifts at work, and it helps water taste less metallic in my opinion. Although, I guess with good products you can always find some flaws with it. Flaw number one is, even if you go slightly above the "Max- 1 L" line on the bottle, if you put your straw in, it can overflow quite easily causing a mess. Especially if you put ice in the water. Flaw number two is, for some reason, every time I use this bottle and I get to halfway done with my water, some of the water backs up into the straw and forms at the very tip of the mouth piece so when you pick it up, water pours all over you if you tilt it slightly to drink out of it. I've had this happen on multiple occasions and I do not understand why, especially because it only happens when I get to the halfway mark, and it's not overfilled at all. Another thing I don't understand with this is the water keeps backing up into the mouth piece to the point where you have to drink out of it in order to get it to stop backing up and trying to overflow out of the mouth piece. I have to hold it straight in order to drink out of it when this happens because it'll just spill all over me. Flaw number three, is I believe what occurs with all filtered water bottles that come with a straw. The straw never reaches the bottom for some reason, I don't know if companies do this purposefully or they aren't able to make the filtered straw long enough to reach the bottom, but I am constantly having to remove the filtered straw and mouth piece all together to get the last ounce of water out of my bottle and am forced to drink the tap water that I put in my bottle, unfiltered. I wish companies would make their filtered straws long enough so they could reach the bottom. I can't say if my last flaw is a flaw or not, since it's more of a preference of mine and I learned this the hard way, but you definitely cannot put water mixes in your water with this bottle. I learned this the hard way when I put in a powder mix for some mango green tea flavoring for my water in my bottle and it left the filtered stained as well as it absorbed all of the flavoring but it became sour real fast and made all my future drinks horrible. I had to buy a replacement because of this. I guess I could've avoided this by maybe putting some fruit in my water or something if I wanted flavoring instead of the flavoring powders, but I feel as though even with fruit it would've absorbed the flavoring and made all my future drinks nasty. I guess that is the downfall of having a filtered water bottle though, and maybe I should look into getting a filtered water pitcher so I could put some fruit in there or something to have at home and not at work. Anyways, if you're looking for a good water bottle that has a filter and you can work around the flaws that I've found, this is the one for you.

A must for international travel
Brought this on my trip to Africa. It was great! The only thing to watch out for is when changing altitudes the water will over flow when you take the cap off. If you blow into it after you take a sip, it fixes the problem.

Could Be Better!!
Pros: -Holds a decent amount of water. -Gets rid of "city-water" taste. -Very durable. (Fell off the top of my SUV and it just had a few scuffs) Cons: -Will not fit in a standard size vehicle cup holder. (This is a problem, because the bottle is round and fill fly off of a seat if you come to a harder-than-normal stop.) -There is resistance with the straw. (Might not be a huge problem for some, but I have a tendency to drink gulps of water when I'm thirsty. You cannot do that with this bottle. It has a resistance every time you sip!) -It LEAKS DURING TEMPERATURE CHANGES! (If you carry this from the car to the office or from inside to outside, it leaks inside the cap. When you take the cap off and tilt the bottle all of that water spills on you. You can pour it off, but it's not easy if it happens in the car driving or in the office.) -Difficult to keep liquids cold. (This cup is a thicker-walled plastic. Because of that, if the liquid is already cold it will keep it cold for a while. However, it's hard to judge how much ice to put in it because of the thick wall. Also, the temperature fluctuations of a cold beverage in a warmer environment will cause leakage problems.) Overall - I probably would not buy this bottle again. For $50.00 I thought I was getting a middle-of-the-road option that wasn't too expensive. Instead, I got something that doesn't work for me. I wish I'd spend the $100 and got the a geopress. It sounds like a better option for my needs.

Very durable water bottle.
Great water bottle. I purchased more as gifts for family. I love the colors. They love them. Dont let any dish soap get onto the filters or it stops working. You also have to change the small black filter ever 50 days so keep them on hand. The white filter is good for 5 yrs! My skin has cleared up. I noticed it from drinking cleaner water which is a unexpected plus. I feel better too. Would recommend.

Immediate Favorite.
I had been doing some pretty interesting research when it comes to water bottles with filters in them as I’m kind of a snob when it comes to my water. I had a britta bottle at first but come to find out it doesn’t exactly do the best job (still worth while) at filtering water. I stumbled across this water bottle here on Amazon and decided to read some reviews. While skeptical I decided to test this out for myself and see how well it competes. Let me just say, IMMEDIATELY after washing it out and filling it up I knew after the first DRINK that this water bottle is superior. There is nothing quite like it. You can tell the filter works amazing as it is a little hard to create a good vacuum to bring the water up the filter. But oh man. The taste of this water had SHOCKED me. This has got to be the most straight forward, and easy product to use, and not to mention the 1 Liter capacity. Most water bottles are only 32 oz, so hats off to LifeStraw. The value I find in my opinion worth every dollar. Filtered water is so much better given the severely reduced amount of particulate matter in our water now. If you’ve got the extra change, do yourself a favor and buy one of these. It doesn’t even have to be the one liter, any bottle with this filter is going to provide insane results

Great bottle - but don’t take the ads literally!
I love this bottle. It’s a huge step up from my Brita filter bottle, being much better designed for long-term use and much more versatile. I’m a long-standing lifestraw fan because I hike and I cannot express how wonderful it is not to have to carry a whole weekend’s water or to use those awful purification tablets. This bottle is also a step up from the previous version, with a fully-sealed cap that allows me to put it in my bike cage on a splattery day without worrying the drinking valve will get dirty. I also particularly love the simple silicone valve that screws into the inner cap - MUCH better than the plastic Brita one, which quickly gets chipped and gunky - and it’s easy to remove and wash with a pipe brush. Two minor points to note: - while getting the dust cap on and off is easy, because of the large handle, getting the top of the bottle unscrewed for refilling is a challenge. It really needs grips or something; it’s just too smooth. It’s also easy to over-tighten it by screwing it on via the handle (which doesn’t work for unscrewing!). Best solution is a slightly damp hand, but people with less grip strength will have trouble. - the marketing videos all show people drinking from the bottle tilted up, as if it’s a gravity-valve. This will only get the filter clogged with air. To drink from it, keep the bottle vertical and drink it like from a straw.

tedious to use while on holiday
tedious to use while on holiday, especially through airports, and honestly the cost versus buying bottles of water make this cost/ value of lifestraw not good value for irregular vacations. however, if your camping or in an area where bottled water isnt readily accessible and available - or the bottled/filtered water is questionable, I can see this being useful. just not useful for me, hence 4 stars.
