The problem with a multi arm, lighting or microphone boom with clamp is, they are designed to clamp onto a flat surface, such as a desk or table lip. But sometimes that may not be available, and you will want to use the clamp in a horizontal position. I’m surprised that they do not build this feature in to the clamps offered. This purchase included two identical clamps and they offer both horizontal and vertical holes. I needed this for a microphone boom for my podcast. Works great, I recommend it.

Well made easy to use and versatile

I've been doing some voiceovers and some video walkthroughs for some classes I teach, so I finally invested in a decent microphone. For my setup, I prefer to use a boom arm instead of a table stand. While the arm I do have is (barely) adequate, the part that clamps on the desktop is flimsy.When I stumbled across these Kuvrs Metal Mounting Table Clamps, it looked like a good thing to try out.These are solid and BIG... much wider and thicker than the cheap clamp I ended up with.What is also nice is that you have some additional mount points in case you need to use a table leg or riser... in my case the regular mounting position works great, and with a wider base and more metal, you don't risk torquing the boom arm stem where it inserts into the clamp at full extension.These Kuvrs Table Clamps were a low cost and sensible solution for me. When I upgrade my boom arm (if I need to), I'll definitely be keeping these Kuvrs Table Clamps around!

Hole diameter used for lamps (or other desktop swivel objects) is incorrectly stated as 0.6 inches, with the actual hole diameter size being <0.5 inches!!!I only had a 0.5 (1/2 inch) drill onsite, and even using a 0.5 inch drill, the fit was still slightly too tight to fit the aluminum hole, so proceeded to ream the hole further until the hole was 0.5 inches in diameter. My desktop swivel lamp requires the 0.6 inch hole, and since I do not have a 0.6 inch drill (9/16 drill) bit onsite, will also need to order an additional $10 drill bit, along with spending another hour with labor.This task also typically requires a very large sturdy drill press. Since I currently only have small hand drills, I supplement a stable platform by using a 16 inch concrete block. Now, only have to subsequently deal with the painful awkward damaging metal drilling snags!So if you're not a DIY person, might skip this for a properly sized diameter hole for your desktop swivel lamp!However, the units are thick solid aluminum with apparently proper no-slip grip materials, so the clamps will likely do their jobs well for your desktop. Seemingly durable, and will likely last longer than the original manufactured equipment (OEM) of your desktop swivel lamp!

I recently moved and lost the base to my IKEA Tertial Work Lamp. I was bummed because I couldn’t find a replacement on the IKEA site. This desk clamp worked perfectly and has various options for clamping to items.

I bought these because the listing said they were 0.6". I was so excited to find some that said they were the right size, that I didn't read the reviews. I should have. These are NOT 0.6", they are 0.5". Will work with most lamps, but not mine. Will be returning.

Very sturdy replacement for plastic mount

Well very sturdy they open a lot so I can fix a lamp on my easel i can also use it for ipad stand . The best i ever had.
