Apparently butcher’s twine is also plant infrastructure I originally bought this because it’s cotton butcher’s twine, and presumably somewhere out there people are responsibly using it to tie up roasts. I used mine to keep a mandevilla from collapsing. My plant had reached that fun stage where it was growing beautifully but had absolutely no respect for structural engineering, so I needed something to discreetly secure the vines and give them some extra support. This worked perfectly. The cotton twine is strong enough to hold everything where I want it, but it’s thin and neutral enough that you barely notice it among the vines. It was also easy to cut, tie, and reposition without wrestling with stiff plastic ties or turning my patio into an elaborate zip-tie installation. I especially like that I can tie it loosely around the stems rather than cinching something rigid against a growing plant. Just leave enough room for the vine to continue growing and it makes a really simple, inexpensive plant support. I’m sure it’s also excellent for meat. **Five stars from my mandevilla, which is now standing upright entirely through deception and butcher’s twine.

Twin works great and is strong for use for cooking. No smell to packaging. Rolled off nice with no knotting.

Good quality, heavy duty twine. No smell or weird feeling to it, just feels like solid cotton. I used it to make pumpkin shapes to my sourdough loaves and it worked well for that use. Just remember to oil your twine, as it is natural cotton so will leave tufts behind when you pull it away from your bread if you don't! My knots held well, it was thick but not too much for my use, and I can see myself using it for other recipes in the future!
