DR Strings Red Devils - Extra-Life Red Coated Electric 10-46

I was working on a project guitar with a Zodiac theme and needed something to kick it up a notch and these worked perfectly. They’re a great value, hold tuning extremely well, produce great bends, and are nice and bright without being tinny. They look great, sound amazing and they really tied my little project together quite well. Don’t listen to the folks who say colored strings don’t sound good, they don’t know what they’re talking about. I bought a few extra sets just in case I need them in the future. Highly recommend!

Great strings, sound good and look even better

I put these on my Gibson Dark Fire (Flame Red Maple Finish) with an Ebony Fretboard for a Show. They look so sweet and sounded very good. The Area where the Pick hits the Red Starts to wear off especially on the 2 High Strings, but it is only noticeable from close and your hand is generally covering up that are anyways.

These are super cool looking strings and the evil red color looks really cool on a black guitar but they are missing that noticeable metal sound when you pick them. Do they last super long? Yes. They will last on average three times longer because of the coating. Do they look cool. Yes. It looks incredible to have the black strings on your black guitar or other color. Will your fingers thank you for not having metal to run across them like razors. Yes. The strings keep you from having the fatigue from pain or having your finger tips callused beyond belief. These aren't going to sound as good as regular strings. No matter what, your ear will hear the dull thump on the low E and you'll miss that metal sound. But when plugged in you really don't notice that very much. Especially if you're more a distortion guy or someone who tends to finger pick a little these babies actually will work out nicely. If you are playing Pantera or something then you will love not having your fingers bleeding from trying to keep up. But and it's a big but, the strings will not play as well for things like finger tapping or keeping the sustain going for as long as you would like. And they have to lose a star for that. Because for some people that is a huge thing. For me it doesn't really bother me that much. This was a tough call for me to give four stars. There are significant advantages and disadvantages to your playing. But there is no denying they last longer and your fingers feel better. If you gigged with them though, I think almost no one would recognize the difference except you and for that reason they get four stars. Because the bottom line is that when you're playing weekly if your comfort level is better with them and people don't notice the change then who cares if when not plugged in they sound a little like nylon strings and are dull sounding. If when you plug in it doesn't make a difference, then why should I mark them as a lower grade.

They look amazing, sound great, and feel incredible. They are lightning fast, and very comfortable.

We ordered DR Strings Red Devils - Extra-Life. We received DR Strings Red Devils - NOT Extra-Life. Unfortunately we did not realize this until my 14yo had the package opened, 5 strings on, and the 6th string broken. In many years of Amazon purchases, this is my first bad experience, but I am quite disappointed that they shipped me an inferior product in place of the product I ordered. I'll be checking future purchases more carefully before opening packages.

These strings by far have the coolest look of any string on the market hands down. I had them on my brand new dean custom 550. Lets just say..... Black on White on Red with emg p/u's is a great look. They really stood out, and everyone thought they were cool. They sounded great too, but I play guitar just about 3-6hrs a day and I wore these things out pretty quickly. Definitely sounding on the dull side and losing their red coating but what do you expect? They lasted about as long as they should have for 10 bucks. I will probably buy them again sometime down the road...

Good looking but absolutely Dead sounding.

インパクトはいいのですが、一弦と二弦のコーティングが最初からくこしついてなく、さらに弾いてみるとすぐに取れてしまいました。 インパクトは★5ですが全て合わせるなら★2です。

They are cool strings, but I think will use them in future for stage performances.after moderate use the red coating will fade

Schöne Saiten! Keine Fingerschmerzen und selbst einen erfahrenen Spieler damit beeindruckt. Einziger Makel: Leider keine 2te kleine E Saite dabei. Musste mir das 2 mal kaufen weil die erste gerissen ist :/
