As advertised
Seems like a good recovery system. I would only use it if lightly stuck in sand. The rope isn’t thick enough for bigger jobs. I will update after first use.

Practice before you need them. Knee deep in snow and bad time to learn. But, once I figured them out, Pretty effective. Go slow. The long straps can wrap around axles. But in a pinch these can be helpful as long as you have enough room between anchor and stuck vehicle. I suggest a good long tow rope instead.

Wow! An historic idea reinvented.
I was hesitant to get this, but we have a homestead with a few problematic areas seemingly perpetually full of water and mud--we need something to get out of it. (We spent almost $400 on a brand new winch, towing straps and miscellaneous other gear for pulling our vehicles out of said mud holes only to have the whole lot promptly stolen from our car before we could even use them once! Since we are not made of money and have way too many thieves in our neck of the woods for comfort, we decided to try this cheaper option until we could save up to replace the good stuff.)As for this ... WOW! We had never heard of this before but it turns out this idea was actually invented way back at the same time the first cars rolled off the assembly line. (Think model-Ts). It works beautifully and is a simple, elegant solution to the age-old problem of being stuck in the mud. Like most really simple things, someone found a way to over-complicate the process and charge more for doing it, giving rise to the high-priced mechanical and electrical winches so popular today. This is a throw back. A genuine old-fashioned and CHEAP way to do exactly what several hundreds of dollars don't really do better.Having said that, there are certain limitations to this little miracle of engineering. You can only pull the vehicle you are using it on out of the mud. You can't use it to haul other things or do many of the accessory things a winch can do. You also need to use it in a straight-line motion ONLY--unlike a winch which can pull around corners. It also has a relative short distance for pulling. However, this is a great emergency tool to keep in your trunk or the back of a truck and will be quite handy for that time when pulling yourself out of a mud hole is your greatest and only desire! This set is well made in day-glow orange so you really can NOT lose it, and it comes neatly wrapped up in its own handy carrying bag (also orange). It includes a well-written and informative booklet explaining the entire process--including potential dangers--so do read the whole thing before you use it for the first time. We've gone from never having heard about this to thinking this is an indispensable piece of emergency kit for every vehicle. My advice is to get one--if you wait until you need it, you'll be too late.

A great way to help get unstuck especially if there are no other vehicles to assist!
I got the UCHENTON Vehicle Recovery Rope to put in my F-350 in case of an emergency. Since I do not have a winch on my truck, and I do not always have another vehicle with me to use a tow rope, I thought this would be perfect to keep with the truck. It is an inexpensive piece of mind that should work in an emergency and is small enough to store it out of the way (I have a Snugtop with a large military box in the front of the bed that I keep along with a tow rope, spare parts, and plenty of water. It is fairly straight forward to use, and it will work with rims that have holes and those that do not. The rope ladder is 18' long which should be long enough to reach some kind of anchor point. Since I live in the desert and there are a lot of sandy washes, I threw a couple of 3' long concrete stakes in the box along with a sledgehammer so if there is nothing else to attach the rope ladder to, I can make my own anchor points. As my teenage kids drive my truck on occasion and my daughter likes to take it to the desert with friends, I feel a little better knowing that this is with the truck, and she knows how to use it. I am sure there is a limit to how much it can help depending on how struck the truck is, but I figure it is better than nothing. I plan to get a second one due to the size and weight of the truck, so with two of them there is a better chance of them being able to pull the truck out.If you have a smaller truck or SUV, one should be plenty but considering how inexpensive they are, why not grab two just to be sure. I can definitely recommend the UCHENTON Vehicle Recovery Rope!

This is great for minor self recoveries. Unlike my Jeep, my wife's does not have a winch. This works as described and is easy to use as long as one wheel of the axle still has some traction or you have a posi or locker. Put it on the wheel that does not have traction (is just spinning). It will cause the slipping wheel to act as winch and pull vehicle or cause the other wheel to spin and grab. If no wheels have traction, use 1 on each wheel of the same axle, they are cheap. You can couple to a tow strap or tow rope with shackles or soft shackles (not included) to reach and anchor point. For the price and space it occupies, its a great purchase.
