I was expecting something that might look little cheap in plastic, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that the candles look real unless you actually examine them. When turned off, it's obvious because the wick is a part of the plastic candle but when they're on, it really does look like real candles flickering. The remote feature works fine as well as the different modes for the candles.

The Birch Bark Flameless Candles look great on our mantle and offer a realistic "burn" when turned on. The three varied-height candles are pleasing together or separated, were easy to figure out as far as removing the AA battery covers on each one, inserting the batteries, and snapping the cover back on, and immediately started flickering when the on button on the bottom of the candle was engaged. The flickering option for the candle is incredibly realistic, causing my husband to start with alarm when he noticed them as he thought the flame was too close to the fall leaves I had arranged on the mantle around the candles. I also appreciate that the body of the candle glows (rather than just the flame bulb) as it provides more warm light. Once out of the package and in use, they actually look very birch tree-like - and the remote control option is awesome! Press the hr time button (such as the 6-hr option) at the start time of the time you want the candle to begin burning every night, and you are set until the batteries run out. The three candles have been running for 24-hrs over a period of 4 days with no loss of battery power. Am about to purchase another set for a 2nd room. It's a really great, flameless, set it and forget it option.

I love these! I've had them for years and they still work beautifully. I get compliments on them and the remote control is terrific!

I recently experienced a shift in my consciousness and decided to make my meditation space and garden a little more beautiful with candles. I like the battery operated version as they are safe and the remote is a plus. Not sure about how long the AA batteries will last but that would depend on my use of these babies. Over all great look, romantic glow, looks like real candles when turned on at night and good design! Also did I mention the remote? Works really well with timed options. Bought one candle at Wegmans for over $8 and it was a piece of junk. These were good value for money. I will update if I experience any issues. Loving them so far! Update: 7/22 Not sure why but 3 candles just come on and stay on all night. No matter how many times I hit the off and 4 hr timer button, they just seem to have a mind of their own. I have 2 or 3 more that I haven’t tried yet. Maybe I’ll switch those for these and see if I’m having the same issue. The 4 others are working perfectly. Docking one star for timer issues. Update: 9/1/2018 Still works, long battery life and I’m loving them! I think the company should include two remotes as timers are not up to par, that way I don’t have to run upstairs and downstairs and one remote. Otherwise good buy and I’m glad I have them.

Candles are as described by seller. Arrived on time by Amazon, packaged well. The candles look great in a rustic center piece that I have for Yule/Christmas season. Brightness of candle is perfect for a "candle lit" room. The timer on the candles works well .

They work but there is no actual faux flame, it's a plastic flame without a flicker for realism. The candle itself is a cheap, and I mean thin cheap plastic that is not realistic. I purchased others years ago that are realistic and with a flame that works like a wick burning. If you want a flameless candle it works and will be fine at a distance. For the cost I would pass and find another more realistic candle.

These are a golden glow when on. They don’t match previous candles, but I love them. Although I didn’t get a remote with previous candles, this remote operates all of them at the same time. Perfect!
