Almost Returned. Thrilled I Didn’t! Gratifying on Multiple levels
Possibly the most gratifying purchase in a long time! Give it a chance and me one to explain why. I bought this as I’m dealing with a long hvac project after tornadoes, hailstorms and damage to repair. So no A/C, ruined screens but summer heat means open windows and suck in any pseudo cold air at night. Bugs included. I almost returned this as I thought the whole racket should glow with light but just the bottom did. It didn’t seem to attract bugs. I’ve been buying the well-known plug-ins with sticky sheets that are unbelievably expensive to replace. They work great with fruit flies and some mosquitoes but this year started with some brown gnats that I never had before. Those plug-ins don’t work. I bought this to try where there aren’t plugs close by and it’s a great price compared to refills. I learned through videos that not all bugs are attracted to certain light. So even this doesn’t work if I just leave it standing up on these little brown rapidly-reproducing (lord knows where cringe) bugs. I was ready to return when I read a review from a man whose wife was won over by this ..in the same way I was! I assumed just using it as a racquet would be ridiculous with me running around chasing each bug. I was so wrong! I turned it on and the light doesn’t matter…just starting swinging in the area they were flying. The first pop startled me and despite having zappers when camping etc..I didn’t expect this to be that loud or powerful. I thought maybe I hit something metal. Then a whole bunch of pops I realized it was each little bug. I didn’t have to chase anything just wave it around and soon I couldn’t find any. It is so gratifying to hear that pop after dealing with them for weeks! Fun and you don’t need to see them, just walk around or find an area they are hanging around and enjoy as the racquet pops and they disappear! I haven’t had many fruit flies or mosquitoes yet but those are attracted to the blue uv light. I think this will work for some and since this is easy to recharge and then is portable, you can put it anywhere. It is loud when a bug hits it that it may not be perfect for your nightstand but I could get used to it rather than spend a fortune on sticky pads (which can be altered with tape and work to a degree just fyi) or be bitten, buzzed all night. I haven’t smelled anything from charging or when a bug is zapped. It’s stable with stand provided but a solid bump, pet interest or more than a breeze, wind will knock it over. Cat owners you know. It seems safe as the netting is solid and no little fingers will get into the electrical wires. For that reason I can’t imagine it works on bigger bugs. But anything gnat-like, biting, or has long legs/wings (mosquito) will get zapped. I would be careful with anything like this for pets or kids though. It’s exposed electricity. I only have seen one bug stuck in it and nothing after those pops. Vacuuming in the area should take care of any leftovers. But I’ve only dealt with small vey small bugs so far. Following the guide, not using anything very wet, ensuring it’s off.. cleaning should be easy. This may not be the answer to every bug problem but I’m so happy I kept it for those that aren’t attracted to UV light, it’ll save so much money on sticky paper plug-ins and by far the- itmis immensely GRATIFYING to use like a racket and pop those bugs away with no talent or effort needed!! It is very light so even those of us out of shape, older or sick/injured can have fun. I recommend this product to knock off some bugs in an uplifting way. Helps your health/frame of mind with fun, movement especially when dealing with rough circumstances.

Finally, a Bug Zapper That Actually Zaps (And Does More!)
Okay, so I've tried a few electric fly swatters over the years, and honestly, most of them have been... fine. They kinda work, sometimes. But this YISSVIC 4000V Bug Zapper Racket? This thing is a total game-changer, and I'm genuinely impressed. Right out of the box, it feels sturdy. Not flimsy plastic like some others. The best part, and what sold me, are the "dual modes." You can use it as a classic handheld swatter, which is great for those ninja-like flies that think they're too fast. And let me tell you, that 4000V really does the trick. You hear a satisfying *POP* and see a little flash, and boom – bug gone. No more chasing them around with a rolled-up magazine only to miss. This is especially good for those annoying mosquitoes that sneak in at night. But the dual mode is where it really shines. It comes with a stand, so you can just set it up on your patio table, kitchen counter, or even next to your bed. It has this soft UV light that attracts bugs, and then *zap*! It's super convenient for those times you just want passive bug protection without having to actively hunt them down. I've been leaving it on my porch during grilling sessions, and it significantly cuts down on the number of flying pests. Charging is easy with a USB cable, and it holds a charge for a good while. There's a safety grid on both sides, so you're not accidentally zapping yourself, which is a nice touch. It's really effective on flies, mosquitoes, gnats, and those tiny fruit flies that love to hang around. Overall, I'm super happy with this YISSVIC zapper. If you're tired of bugs and want something that actually works well and offers more than just the basic handheld option, definitely give this one a shot. It's made my evenings on the patio much more enjoyable. Highly recommend!

Works great and fun to use.
Wasn't sure what to expect but the Zapper not only works like it's supposed to but it's fun when you zap the bugs. My daughter and son in law liked it so much, they bought one also. This zapper even gets the tiny little gnats that came in with my bananas. Well worth buying and having, keeps it's charge and is easy to use. Gets five stars from me

Watch Out Flies!
I notices a lot more flies this past summer getting comfortable on my back deck. I bought a dynatrap bug trapper that sits away from social gathering areas, but it does not really attract flies all that much, so I decided I needed a more aggressive, yet fun approach to ridding these flies of my gathering area. Enter the Electric Fly Swatter. Now, an ordinary, warm, summer day should be relaxing. But it is hard to relax with these pesty flies buzzing around you!! So I decided I needed to put in a little work, a little effort before I could truly lay down on the outdoor sectional under the warm rays of that summer sun. I checked the battery level of the Electric Fly Swatter and say it too, was ready for some work. I stealthily opened the slider door to the back deck after noticing the family of flies gather for their afternoon group flight rest. I turned on the Electric Fly Swatter to the top setting (it zaps them itself without you having to hold down the button). I wound up and quickly swatted at the group of about 6 flies. I was able to effectly take out 4, with one stuck in the swatter continuously being zapped until it started smoking. I could have shook the fly out or turned it off, but I felt I had a message to send, so I let it cook. I continued on this mission, eventually going all around my property, eagerly hunting flies. It became a game for me. All in all, this product is light weight, but sturdy. It charges fast and is super effective in his primary duty of fly elimination. Now, it is safe when used appropriately, but it is still safe if you happen to...hit your spouses elbow or knee. Just a quick zap, although probably not recommended. Guess you can teach more than just flies a lesson with this... The sound quality it superb. ZAP ZAP ZAP ZAP!! There is a battery indicator on the front of the handle with three green dots indicating a full charge. On the first setting (just showing the green dots) is the one where you need to press the button on the right side of the handle to use the zapping feature. If you put it on the second setting by sliding the button on the right side up to the top setting, the front of the handle will show a red lightening bolt, indicating that the zapping feature is activated and you do not need to press the size button for it to zap, just go to town!

Bugs go zap
It doesn't really attract the insects like you'd want it to, however when you're waving around and it connects it does the job in one zap. That's the versatility of this zapper. Build quality is another story. The design is sleek however this issue leads into my next point. Rechargeablity. With the C-plug being on the side it makes it harder to just leave in to charge and take off charge fast enough with the base falling to hit the insect. What I mean is if the base was able to charge the zapper by just putting it in there that'd make it so you can take it off hit the insect and place it back in right away without compromising. With the c plug being in the side means you can't really swing it like you want and you could also unplug the charge. Its easy to use lightweight for portability and fun to hit those pesky critters. The zap is very effective getting them in one go making this zapper the best I've ever used so far.

VICTORY over the fungus gnats!
Excellent product! I did some repotting of plants this year and surprise! The soil I used was infested with fungus gnats. Theyve been driving me crazy for months! I treated the soil with neem oil and have been using traps and a stationary zapper but it wasnt killing the adults fast enough. With this zapper i love that I can just put out something to attract them, wait for them to gather in one spot, and take a whole bunch out in one swipe! In a single day I have drastically reduced the number of fungus gnats. It is light weight and easy to use, arrived charged and ready to use, and the battery life is impressive - i probably spent an hour hunting gnats as soon as I got it out of the box! Im very satisfied with my purchase.

Watch your freaking ears
Jesus Christ this thing is so much louder than I expected. I know a lot of people have mentioned the 'satisfying pop' of using it on bugs but if you're a somewhat jumpy person or have sensitive ears like I do, be warned that it might make you jump out of your skin a few times if you have it on auto zap and don't keep it a good distance away (in my case i'm using it indoors in a studio apartment, so it's about 5-6 feet behind me. I suggest keeping it much farther away than that if you can help it.) I literally have to have headphones over my ears to help deal with the noise and it still made me jump several times per hour. Furthermore, as a heads up to people looking to use it on any kind of flying pest instead of specifically mosquitoes: make SURE you know what you're actually trying to kill. I thought it would still work fine for zapping fruit flies that happened to fly near it (the purple UV light doesn't attract them the way it attracts mosquitoes and larger flies) but it's very mediocre for that task because they are small enough to sometimes just get through the gaps unharmed. I was also surprised to see that a couple of them even survived being shocked - which I could maybe understand from a larger fly, but a fruit fly?? How is this thing not killing those in one shot? Overall, even after factoring in the fact that I was using this for a slightly different purpose than it was intended for, I can't help but be just a bit disappointed in this thing.

Disappointed but good customer service
I so wanted to come on here and give a glowing review but after just over two weeks of use I just can’t. For a couple reasons: First, from day one, it was never strong enough to actually kill houseflies without shocking them two or three times, which actually felt inhumane. You get a big show with sparks and lights and a smokey smell, but the fly was just shocked for a moment then would head on its way unless you swatted it again. And again. Luckily, we only had a few of those around. Our big issue has been drain / fruit flies. Which brings me to reason two: After a couple days of valiantly shocking drain flies into non-existence, (same over the top light show, but without the funky smell) half the racket just stopped working. I would put it over one of them as they lounged on a counter top and watch them walk or fly right through the center. If they went towards the top of the racket, sparks flew and no for fruit fly, but anywhere else, nothing. A mere two weeks of use and only half the racket works. Not exactly the best value out there. I’m past the return window by a few days, so I’m stuck with it, luckily it was under $25, so I don’t feel too bad. But if you’re considering, try another product. Update 11/18/25: The seller reached out to me shortly after I posted my review to ask how they could make things right. I unfortunately did not see their email until today, but I really appreciate that level of customer service. I also figured out why the racket was no longer zapping fruit and drain flies. There was a very small piece of lint in between the netting towards one of the outer corners (and when I say small, I’m talking less than 4mm). Once I removed it, the whole racket worked again. It still takes a couple tries to take out a fly, but the little guys are gone no problem. Also, I would like to report the battery life on this is amazing. So I’m upgrading my review to 4 stars.
